The game takes place in the fictional continent of Archanea, which originally appeared in the first game of the series, Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Ken. The countries include Archanea, Dolhr, Macedon, Grust, and Khadein.

Fire Emblem Mystery Of The Emblem drops many of the gameplay elements introduced in Fire Emblem Gaiden, such as explorable towns and a navigable world map. However, it does carry over certain features; such as a battery RAM save feature and the use of icons for weapons along with their names. The game's most prominent new feature is the dismount command, which allows cavalier units to get off their horses and fight on foot. The limitation to this factor is that cavaliers can only wield lances when on horseback and swords while on foot. Furthermore, cavalier and airborne units are forced to dismount in chapters that take place in interior locations.

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 takes place in the Republic of Manster and the Kingdom of Thracia in the continent of Jugdral during the latter half of the previous game, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of Holy-War and and slightly before the year Gran 776.
Leaf, the son of the fallen Prince Cuan of Lenster (taken by surprise by the Dragon Riders of the Kingdom of Thracia under the command of King Trabant), is seeking to restore the Kingdom of Lenster as the story begins.

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 uses the same skill system as Fire Emblem: Genealogy of Holy-War. It also introduced "fog of war" combat, also known as night combat. "Fog of war" requires the use of torches or torch wands. The game also features "Capture" command, by which playable characters can capture an enemy and seize their equipment. Like Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 has the Dismount feature, including its similar characteristics, such as that Lance Knights and Axe Knights are forced to use swords when on foot and that cavalry and airborne units are forced to dismount in interior missions. This is also the only game in the series with a fatigue system. When a character participates in a battle, they fill their fatigue meter a bit. When it is full, they cannot participate in the next chapter. This encourages the player to use units sparingly and use more characters. Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 also introduced the Rescue command, allowing one character to pick up and carry another (provided they are light enough). Once Rescued, a character is safe unless the carrier is killed. This mechanic allows players to save an important character they had unwittingly put in danger.

Test Pilot Log March 17, 2093: On what started to be the routine high speed test of interplanetary craft Delta 12, a powerplant malfunction caused the craft to skip off the rim of a small black hole. I found myself in a time and place unknown to me. The planet is inhabited by giant bug-like creatures. The inhabitants explained that they are part of a culture originally insect-like but now almost entirely mechanical. A group of the inhabitants started programming themselves to survive at the expense of others in the society. After the complete metamorphosis to computer controlled minds, these bugs began attacking the good creatures. The good bugs have asked for my help. I have been put in command of the best machine bug on their planet. My task of saving the good bugs should prove extremely difficult since the bad bugs have created creature machines programmed solely for the purpose of stopping me.

Fire Pro Wrestling Combination Tag is the first game in the long-running Fire Pro Wrestling series, released for the PC Engine in 1989 by the now-defunct Human Entertainment. The game was followed by two sequels before finally moving onto the SNES: Fire Pro Wrestling 2nd Bout and Fire Pro Wrestling 3: Legend Bout. All of the wrestlers featured are all fictional but are obviously based on real wrestlers.

Featuring sounds and graphics that are barely a cut above the typical NES game, Fire Striker takes the barrier-busting formula pioneered by Breakout and Arkanoid and places it in an action-adventure setting complete with bosses, power-ups, and a map. Players control a knight who swings his sword at a ball of light that bounces around destroying primarily generic enemies (such as bats), breaking through obstacles, and opening treasure chests in order to progress to the next of the game's 14 levels. A second player or the computer controls a mage whose job it is to prevent the ball from falling through the bottom of the playfield. A four-player soccer-like mode is also available. Cheap deaths and shoddy production values mar an otherwise potential-filled game.

An abstract arcade game in which a single player takes on the role of a firefighter, who must climb a burning building rescuing the people and animals who are trapped inside. As well as the fires, the firefighter must also avoid or deflect (the latter with his extinguisher) a number of falling objects and debris, including cars, couches, hammers, chairs, lamps, stoves and refrigerators.

Fire Trap is very similar, gameplay-wise, to Nichibutsu's 1980 classic, ''Crazy Climber''. As the firefighter climbs the building, he must use his fire extinguisher to put out the fires which include burning papers, flame-gushing windows and moving fireballs. The fire extinguisher contains only a limited amount of water, so must be used it wisely. Certain extinguished fires, however, reveal cannisters of extinguisher fuel to be collected. Other extinguished fires reveal bonuses and, very occasionally, springboards; which shoot the player higher up the skyscraper.

The firefighter's ultimate aim is to reach the roof of the skyscraper and rescue a young woman who is trapped there. As the firefighter reaches the roof, a giant fireball appears and circles the tower; this must be either avoided or extinguished. After the firefighter has rescued the woman, he must fly down the building with his jet pack and extinguish any fires remaining on the building; before finally landing safely on the ground. The firefighter will then move on to another burning building to make another rescue attempt.

The Firemen is a game where the player controls Pete, the fire fighter. Your equipment consists of a limited number of very powerful "water bombs" and a fire extinguisher with unlimited ammo. You have two settings for your extinguisher; a steady stream to extinguish fires from a safe distance and a more powerful but extremely short ranged spray a few steps in front of Pete.
Together with your axe wielding partner, your mission is to rescue the people inside a burning building and also put out as much of the fire as you can. Each time you rescue a person, they tell you about any people that may be trapped nearby. Also, be sure to listen to every word your squadmate tells you, or you may be toast.

Firepower 2000 is a unique vertical scroller in that players can select one of two attack vehicles, a jeep or a helicopter. The jeep is slow and vulnerable to the many ground-based attacks, but it can fire in all directions. The helicopter can only fire forward, but it is quick and can travel safely over the surface enemies. The most enjoyable route is the two-player simultaneous mode, which lets one player control the jeep while the other player controls the helicopter. With no continues and no save feature, defeating the game's six levels is a formidable challenge. Thankfully, there are some nice power-ups (such as flame and lasers), and the graphics are crisp and clear, making it easy to keep track of things, even when the action is hot and heavy. As a bonus, there's no discernable slowdown.
