10 Yard Fight is the first slightly realistic American football video game ever developed and released.

The game is viewed in a top-down perspective and is vertical scrolling. The player does not select plays for either offense or defense. On offense, the player simply receives the ball upon the snap and either attempt to run with the quarterback, toss the ball to a running back, or throw the ball to the one long distance receiver - basically the option offense. On defense, the player chooses one of two players to control, and the computer manipulates the others. The ball can also be punted or a field goal can be attempted.

American Football, the intense game where muscle, brains, and passion collide. Whether playing yourself, or just watching others, you can't help but get into the 10-yard fight!

Offense tries to advance as far as they can towards the goal line. However, defense is ready to stop you with as many as 183 starting formations and as many as 133,407 plays they're trying to get yardage and win the game too! Size up each play slyly, yet quickly, and make a charge for the goal line! The game gradually gets harder as you get better. You start playing high school, then college, then pro, then play off, and finally Super Bowl level football.

Come up with game-winning strategies and nice moves for both offense and defense. So get on the gridiron and fight, fight, fight!

ABC Monday Night Football lets you play as one of 28 teams in a Season, Exhibition or Two Player contest. Select from four running plays or four passing plays to guide your offense, with the option to change your playbook before each game or during halftime. Defense involves selecting the offensive play you think the opponent is going to run and trying to stop it. The game is played from a vertical perspective of the field without requiring the use of passing windows to spot open receivers.

Statistics and season progress are saved to battery, so you don't have to worry about writing down long passwords. ABC Monday Night Football also features the digitized speech of Frank Gifford, instant replay, and special Super Plays, which involve rapidly tapping the button while a cinema shows your receiver or running back in action. Only two Super Plays are allowed per half, however, and the defense can counter them by tapping the button faster. While neither the NFL nor NFLPA licenses were acquired for the game, teams and players closely follow their professional counterparts from the 1992 season.

An American football arcade game released by Leland in 1989. One of the main differences between it, and its predecessor, John Elway's Team Quarterback is that it was the first (and possibly, only coin-op game to allow users to select from a list of "college" teams in addition to "pro" teams representing the 26 cities/regions which had NFL teams at the time. It is also the only game in the series to allow users to purchase power-up items such as "beef" (for boosting the offensive line) and "go juice" (for a second wind on long gains) from a "sideline shop" during the game.

A series of solid and challenging football sims utilizing the proven Madden game engine. Spotlights the top NCAA football picks for a given year. The first two games were endorsed by coaching legend Bill Walsh - he eventually moved on to the NFL, so the endorsement was dropped.

Every bit as fun as the Madden NFL series but set for the college scene. It really doesn't matter which one you have - aside from the graphics, the team rosters, and some minor tweaking of the AI, they're all pretty much the same game.

This is an all action, crunch 'em, stamp 'em, no holds barred game of mutant football where heads roll and where injury time means just that

Ever wondered how today's college football teams would have done if they faced some of the greatest college teams of all time? In Bill Walsh College Football for the Super Nintendo, you can find out. Among the twenty-four great teams are Alabama '78, Pittsburgh '80, Nebraska '83, and Colorado '90. You'll also get twenty-four of the top teams from 1993, for forty-eight of the best, spanning three decades since the 1970s. Choose your team and embark on an eleven game season, with playoffs and a national championship with sixty-eight college plays, including the triple option, wishbone, student body, and more at your disposal, as well as Walsh's scouting reports for each team. Choose from automatic or manual pass catch modes, audibles, or the play call "bluff mode" to hide plays from the opposition. If someone misses that great catch, a 360-degree instant replay feature lets everybody see it again. Up to five players can play using Hudson Soft's Super Multitap adapter.

Enjoy some good ol'-fashioned college football as you relive past seasons with the top 32 NCAA teams for a given year. College Football's National Championship, covers the top 32 NCAA teams of 1994.

This stands out from the pack because when you first slip into it, you'll think you're going blind...Sega's been toying with the zoom feature for years, but never has it worked so seamlessly.... I also like the locker room scene...and having to wait until the last minute to know which side you'll be playing on.

At one time, the game of American Football was not played by average humans, but in the year 2006, an all-pro player was caught with a bionic knee. He was then banned, never to return to the game.

Based on several complaints from other teams, 2 player's were caught with illegal bionic parts, and were thrown out.

In an effort to save the game, the football Commission did random tests for bionic parts. A lot were caught, but were unwilling to give up their beloved game, and combined with increasingly insane requests for a pay rise, the league gradually made a change to complete robotics. By 2022, the game was played not by humans, but robots, and the usual pig skin ball was replaced with a 350 pound bomb to spice things up.

Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith gets his own videogame with the imaginatively titled Emmitt Smith Football for the Super NES. Although the game lacks approval from the NFL and NFLPA, it does purport to be professional football that "has never been more in your control." Instead of merely acting as a spectator, you get to be field commander, strategist and player.

After selecting two teams (city names only), you get to challenge the computer or a friend as the home team or the visitor. Next, you get to select quarter length (5, 10 or 15 minutes) and weather conditions (fair, rainy or snowy). After the coin toss, it's time for the kickoff. A power meter is available to judge how hard you want to kick the ball. You can even attempt an onside kick!

Thanks to a special Play Editor feature, Emmitt Smith Football lets you design and save (via passwords) more than 60 different plays for your offense and defense. You can restructure classic plays of modern era football or create ones of your own. If you want to view a play action sequence again, simply hit instant replay. You can change viewpoints while the game is in progress and during replays.

When on offense, you can let the computer control your quarterback or you can take the reigns yourself. Special color-coded markers enable you to keep track of receivers that are far upfield. Green markers indicate an open receiver, yellow markers indicate a receiver that is covered by one defender, and red markers indicate a receiver that is covered by more than one defender. Switch control to the receiver when necessary to catch the ball. When running the ball as a receiver or a running back, you can dive, shoulder block, spin and sidestep to shake off defenders.

When on defense, you can move the player you are controlling anywhere you like, but be careful not to cross the line of scrimmage before the ball is snapped. You can press B to switch to the player closest to the ball and Y to execute a dive in the direction you are heading.

Tired of passively watching professional football from the stands or from your living room couch? Become part of the action with Emmitt Smith Football!

Hosted by fan favorite Chris Berman, ESPN Sunday Night NFL transforms you from mere armchair quarterback to interactive participant. Although there are no actual pro football player's names, every NFL team in both the AFC and NFC is represented by city, team name, and logo. Also, the position strengths and weaknesses of each team are provided.

Options and features include two-point conversions after touchdowns, delay of game, pass interference, fake punts, flea flickers, no-huddle offense, audibles, and two-minute warnings. You or you and a friend can play as coach or player/coach in the playoffs, the entire 1994 season, a season chosen at random, or a single game.
