AKA The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin,
It had the same basic format and storyline as the 16-bit version, with redesigned levels, cutscenes (that included a cameo from Doctor Strange) and even on the easiest setting was seen as being difficult to complete. In this version Mary Jane wouldn't be kidnapped but still appear at the end of the game if players attain the best ending.

In this single-player side-scrolling beat 'em up (with a format similar to Final Fight, and Streets of Rage) the player controls Spider-Man and Venom through various levels to stop the supervillain Carnage and his gang, as well as hundreds of criminals they inspire in their wake, from taking over the city.
Other Marvel heroes can be summoned by collecting appropriate items hidden within certain levels. Their effects vary greatly, and some of them have different effects depending on who the player is. Of note is the rarity and set locations of the power-ups necessary to summon aid, and that each character has a unique set of music to accompany their appearance. In order of appearance: Cloak, Black Cat, Dagger, Firestar, Spider-Man/Venom (depending on the player character), Morbius, Deathlok, Iron Fist, and Captain America.

Parting is such sweet sorrow! Venom has been violently split from his living costume, spawning five deadly alien Symbiotes. In fierce two-player action, Venom joins forces with his arch-enemy, Spider-Man, to face the new strain of evil brought to life by chilling, computer-rendered graphics. Between the merciless Jury and awesome allies like Ghost Rider and Daredevil, Venom's out to part his Symbiote offspring from their newfound life!
In Spiderman and Venom - Separation Anxiety, Spidey must once again help Venom fight off his own clones and the people responsible for them - very much like its predecessor, Maximum Carnage, where you beat people up for twenty or so levels. Unfortunately the graphics seem to have taken a step backwards in time and as such it makes it difficult to recommend this over Maximum Carnage when the gameplay remains essentially unchanged.

A sideways scrolling beat-em-up for 1 to 4 players; choosing from Spider-Man, Black-Cat, Hawkeye or Sub-Mariner. The heroes must fight their way through four levels of Dr. Doom's villains; including Venom, The Scorpion, The Lizard, The Green Goblin, The Sandman, The Kingpin, The Hobgoblin, Electro, Dr. Octopus and, of course, Dr. Doom himself.
Each player character has a different weapon or power that can be used throughout the game while fighting. Spider-Man uses his webs, The Black Cat uses her 'cat's claw' grappling hook and cable, Hawkeye uses his bow and arrows and The Sub-Mariner uses his hydro-electric charges. The game's viewpoint pans in and out between alternate large and small scale (4-way scrolling) sections. The game's 'camera' zooms out on alternate levels with the zoomed-out view introducing four-way scrolling platform sections to the gameplay. The game ends when the fourth and final chapter has been completed.

Peter Parker was watching the television one afternoon when he heard some shocking news. The notorious Kingpin has planted a bomb in New York City and is placing the blame on Spider-Man. Identifying himself only as a concerned citizen, the Kingpin has set all of New York City in a panic! It's up to you as Peter Parker to put on the Spidey suit and clear your name. You must be careful where you go -- the Kingpin has also put a $10,000 price on your head. All of New York -- even the police -- is out to get you!
Your first stop should be the Daily Bugle to check and see if the public is buying the Kingpin's story. If they are, it's going to be up to you to provide the pictures to clear your name. Besides that, you've got to do something about the bomb the Kingpin planted. He's got six evil henchmen working with him and you'll have to battle each of them if you want to get to the Kingpin himself. Each henchman has a key to the Kingpin's bomb. Every time you defeat a henchman you'll get a key. You'd better hurry, because if you don't have all six keys in twenty-four hours the bomb will destroy New York City!
Along the way, make sure to take pictures of the action, just as Peter Parker would. Once you've defeated a villain you can sell the pictures to the Daily Bugle for cash you can use to buy material to make more webbing. After all, you're bound to run short of webbing before this day is through. If Spider-Man can live through this day and clear his reputation, Peter Parker should get some well-deserved rest. Now hurry, you've only got twenty-four hours to finish your mission!
Doesn't have the playability. It's very tedious bashing enemies, but there's a compelling storyline. Credible cartoon beat-'em-up.
