Gameplay in the first mode (labelled Game A) is similar to other games in the series, with a few differences. Powerups, which are usually gained in each level and carried over from one to the next, could also be bought from a store by using GP, which is collected depending on how much time it takes to complete a level and how many blocks are destroyed. At the beginning of each area, the player decides which powerups to use to complete the rounds. Another difference is that the linear gameplay of the original, with the player advancing levels after completing each one, was changed to implement a world map with nine locations. Areas besides My Town each have a set number of rounds that have to be completed to finish the area.

The second game mode is the same as that in the original Bomberman game.

There are two games in Vs. Mode: Panel Mode and Powerful Mode.

The black spaceman kidnapped your beloved and brought her to his chambers in the castle, far beyond your reach, over the rivers, forest and mountains. Your job is to save her, battling the sea of the enemies, with only bombs at your disposal.

The range of explosion can be upgraded with time, but if you die, you lose your previous skills. Some upgrades can make you walk through the walls, increase your speed, and give you some other assets to aid you in your quest to save the woman you love.

This top-down action-arcade game consists of nine levels per stage, each tougher than the other, with the final level consisting of a boss you have to deal with. You can move horizontally and vertically and lay down bombs behind you thus evaporating the enemies, but beware, you can block yourself with your own bomb, becoming a victim of your own tricks if you play in a huff.

Despite its name, it is not a port or remake of the original Bomberman, and is in fact, an entirely different game in the series.

As the original version of the long-running Bomberman series, I can't get over how full-featured this game is. Not only does it support up to five players at a time (!), but you get a surprisingly deep single-player mode with diverse stages and a password feature. In multiplayer mode Bomberman is the ultimate party game as players plant bombs around a maze and then attempt to flee the ensuing explosions and chain reactions.

The basic concept is simple as can be, yet once power-ups enter the equation the action becomes very unpredictable. Collecting certain icons let you move faster, lay more bombs, or create larger explosions. There's even a remote control that lets you determine when your bombs will detonate. Bomberman's fast, frantic gameplay is a perfect blend of skill, strategy, and luck. Unlike other versions I've played, if there are less than five players, ghosts and blobs are added into the mix. These add challenge but don't wreak as much havoc as having CPU-controlled players (used in subsequent editions).

The single-player mode is good but not great as you attempt to clear all the ghosts in a scrolling maze. Killing ghosts is a little bit like fishing - you strategically drop your bombs and hope the spooks will drift into the explosions. Blinking blocks usually indicate power-ups, but they sometimes unleash an army of creeps, which is awfully cheap. It also stinks how you're required to locate the hidden exit after clearing the ghosts, which sometimes requires clearing all the remaining blocks. Bomberman is best played with friends, and it's even better if you're all drinking beer. And as the starting point of a franchise that's been enjoyed for generations, this is a key title for Turbografx collectors.

Bomberman GB 2 is the sequel to Bomberman GB created by Hudson Soft and released in Japan for the Game Boy in 1995. It was later released in North America and Europe in 1998 by Nintendo as Bomberman GB due to the previous game being released under a different name.

Our hero the white Bomberman (Bomberman Shiro) was walking down the street one day when he witnessed a robbery. It was black Bomberman (Bomberman Kuro) who was the robber. But Black Bomberman knocked White Bomberman to the ground, and than left the money so that he would be framed. Now Bomberman has been taken to jail and must fight his way out of this place using the only method he knows: explosive bombs.

Bomberman is the second Bomberman game in the series and plays similar to the first, only all gameplay has been reduced to a single screen. Your goal however remains the same on a smaller playing area. You are to destroy all enemies on a level and then find the exit to the next one. Bombing the exit is always a bad useridea. The occasional power-up will increase your bomb blast, number of bombs on the screen at one time, player speed or give you the ability to walk through walls.

In addition to the single Player game, Bomberman II introduces a Versus Mode for 2 players and a Battle Mode for 3. Your goal in these is to destroy the other players while staying alive yourself.

The gameplay consists of the same basic structure as the previous games in the series. The player controls Bomberman by moving him around block filled mazes and laying down bombs. The bombs erupt into a cross-shaped explosion several seconds after being set. The explosion can destroy any blocks or enemies in its path, as well as Bomberman himself. If the explosion touches another bomb, the second bomb will instantly explode as well. This basic formula is used in both the single player and multi-player modes.

Story: The inhabitants of Bomber Planet lived in peace, protected by five spirits, until the evil Bagular and his robot army invaded. The Spirit Pictures, the source of the Spirits' magical power, were destroyed, splitting Bomber Planet into five pieces. Bomberman arrives to restore the Spirit Pictures and reassemble Bomber Planet.

Gameplay: The game is set in six areas: a jungle, a volcano, a sea, a horror-themed castle, an ice level, and the asteroid lair of Bagulaa. In Bomberman '94 the maximum number of players is five in battle mode while in Mega Bomberman the maximum number of players is four. This is the first game in the series that uses the modern design of White Bomberman. Bomberman '94 also introduces Rooeys to the series. Also, Bomberman '94 introduced several recurring characters, such as female and child Bombers (which were multiplayer skins), red/green/blue bombers, secondary villains, possibly originated from combining "normal" skin with corresponding colors. Max was possibly created by selecting skin #3 (spiny helmet) for "black" player.

Story
The story in both versions of the game is the same. An artificial intelligence named Brain has transformed five peaceful, happy planets into cold, dark, mechanical worlds. Both Bomberman and Max hear the distress cry of the Charaboms who live on these planets, and they begin a race to see who can save the Charaboms and defeat Brain first.

Gameplay
Bomberman and Max must conquer 100 different stages, all of which have the classic overhead Bomberman view. While there are various tasks on each level, gameplay mainly consists of good old-fashioned bombing.

A new on the game is the introduction of the Charaboms, which are similar to Pok

What plot? Well, the Bomberman aficionados will go into this whole long spiel about the little fella, his world, and his many friends and foes, but here's the down and dirty - this is a multiplayer action game in which the object is to clear a maze of obstacles. The fun comes out of laying bombs (hence the title) to blow up obstacles in your path, kill monsters, and (of course) your fellow opponents (snicker, snicker). Hidden power-ups under some of the obstacles are revealed when you clear them, and come in various flavors. The first one to the exit in the center of the playing field wins. It's a souped- up version of Pengo that substitutes high explosives for the moving ice blocks, and it's a blast!

Pocket Bomberman features gameplay that revolves around using bombs to box in enemies and blowing them to bits. Once all enemies are defeated, Bomberman has to go to the door at the end of the stage to complete the level. There is a total of 5 worlds and 25 levels. These worlds include a jungle world, an ocean world, a wind world, a cloud world, and a world with the name of "Evil". Each world has a boss fight at the end in which Bomberman must expose the boss's weak points and bomb the boss until it has no health left.

There is one minigame called Jump Mode in which players must guide Bomberman through an Easy, Medium, or Hard course. Bomberman can only jump and place bombs in this mode.

One of the best party games for any system, Super Bomberman maintains the basic gameplay of the popular, highly addictive Bomberman for the NES, but adds a number of bells and whistles to the formula. New power-ups include roller skates that make you go faster and a boxing glove for punching bombs over walls. The biggest improvement over the original game is three- and four-player capabilities via multi-tap adaptor, which is available separately or as part of the Super Bomberman Party Pak. The game contains a one- to four-player Battle Mode, 12 customized zones (Western, Tunnel Zone, Flower Zone, etc.), and a one- or two-player Adventure Mode. The one-player game is a little too easy this time around, and the graphics are still simplistic, but the multi-player action remains a total blast.

Super Bomberman 2 is the second of five video games in the Bomberman series developed by Hudson Soft to be released for the Super Nintendo.

Story:
Five evil cyborgs, called the "Five Dastardly Bombers" are bent on taking over the universe. At the planet Earth, they capture the original Bomberman, and he is placed in a prison cell in their base. He awakens in the dungeon of Magnet Bomber and must fight his way to a final showdown with the Magnet Bomber himself. In the following four levels, Bomberman will challenge Golem Bomber, Pretty Bomber, Brain Bomber, and their leader, Plasma Bomber in an effort to free the Earth of these alien invaders as well as save himself.

Gameplay:
The gameplay consists of walking through maze-like areas filled with monsters with a goal of opening the gate leading to the next area. Playing as a bomberman, the player can lay bombs to destroy all of the monsters, which will subsequently open the gate. Destroying blocks in the maze may uncover useful items including remote control bombs, accelerators, and hearts. There are five levels total and at the end of each is a boss. Each boss is faced first alone in an arena until he or she has been defeated. The boss then retreats back to another arena where the player will face him or her in a personalized machine. After the boss is defeated, the player will continue to the next level.

Super Bomberman 3 is the third game in the Bomberman series for the SNES.

This game scales back a lot of gameplay additions made in Super Bomberman 2 and returns to the classic formula. As for multiplayer, the game adds a lot over the previous game by adding more characters, each representing a country of Earth (including one of the villains, Pretty Bomber, as France, which marks her first appearance as a non-enemy character). There are also new cutscenes for the Story mode, which centers around the resurrection of the Five Dastardly Bombers who were previously defeated in Super Bomberman 2, as Shirobon and Kurobon adventure across various element themed stars in which the Five are causing havoc, under the rule of their creator, Bagular.

The story begins at an unknown time after Super Bomberman 3. Bagular's brain escaped the explosion of his flying saucer and has summoned the Four Bomber Kings and Great Bomber to get revenge on White and Black Bomber. The two, along with other fellow Bombermen, are sent hurtling back in time to fight through different eras and ultimately stop Bagular.

Gameplay:
Super Bomberman 4 is an action game in which players lay bombs to destroy enemies or other bombermen. Other than laying bombs, the game includes a number of power-ups, which allows players to increase the range of a bomb's explosion, punch or kick bombs already on the ground, or pick them up and throw them at another player. The explosions of the bombs can harm anyone on the field, including the bombermen who left the bomb in the first place. There are two game modes, Normal Game (the campaign, which can be played with two players), and the Battle Game, which has three separate modes.

New to the game are a wide range of creatures which are enemies to the player, but when defeated, they turn into eggs. When the player picks an egg, they can use the creatures, which come in two types, organic and mechanical. Players can pick additional eggs to store more creatures, but only of the same type of creature that they are riding.

Story:
The story is that an evil Bomber named Emperor Terrorin with the power of Time itself, has freed various criminal Bombers from their prisons in orbit around Planet Bomber. Setting them up in a warped time and space, Shirobon, Kurobon, and their Louie (Rui) companions must travel through stages and defeat them before going up against Emperor Terrorin himself.

Gameplay:
The single-player portion of Super Bomberman 5 is nonlinear, giving players a choice of which level they'd like to complete next. These phases are all based on the four previous Super Bomberman games for the SNES, containing remixed music and the same sprites of the game, and the fifth phase is completely new. Depending on your path, you can accumulate 100% of completion. There are two endings available, depending on where you face the final boss.

After finishing 100%, the game map is reset, which allows player to finish the maps 200%. When completing 200% of the map, a new password is given.
