This tie-in actually missed the 25th Anniversary of Star Trek's TV debut by at least two years, but it uses the original series' characters and settings. You start the game from the USS Enterprise, exploring space in search of adventure. When on board the ship you have full control over its destination, and any combat which arises from entering hostile space. You can communicate with other ships, and order repairs for the Enterprise when required.
The adventuring bulk of the game comes in the form of many Away Team missions, in which you beam down to the surface of a planet and explore. These play in point and click style, with the userideal goal being to complete them non-violently. However, your performance is rated based on how many extra discoveries and advances you make, and how you interact with the mysterious alien races, so there's value in exploring the surroundings (which look much like they do in the TV series) in further detail.

Step aboard the remote space station Deep Space Nine in this action-adventure based on the syndicated television series set within the Star Trek universe. Help Commander Benjamin Sisko solve multiple missions spanning eight chapters, from finding explosives planted by Bajoran terrorists to saving the outpost from the Cardassians. Use your phaser to stun enemies and tricorder to locate important items -- all while keeping an eye on your health.
As you explore different sectors of the station, you'll meet with several characters from the series, including Odo, Quark, Kira, Lieutenant Jadzia Dax, Dr. Julian Bashir, and Chief Miles O'Brien. Making contact with these individuals is important, since each crew member will have information that can help in completing your objectives. You'll even be able to leave Deep Space Nine and pilot the Federation starship Runabout! The game also features authentic backgrounds and music lifted right from the television show.

The players take the role of Starfleet cadets. The cadets are asked to participate in a U.S.S Enterprise-D simulation. Taking the place of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, they must embark on a series of mission-based goals and perform many tasks (in the form of mini-games) such as diverting power to shields, Transporter Systems, Navigation, Tactical, and more.
As the player successfully completes missions, they gain rank. Starting the game as an Ensign, the player can be promoted to Lieutenant, Lt. commander, Commander, and finally Captain. Each rank has a specific password the player can input to resume the game at whatever rank the player had previously achieved. Combat missions involve fighting enemies of varying strengths and numbers, with Talarians being the weakest and renegade Klingons being the most difficult (except for the Borg, who only appear in one mission).

"Station log, stardate 46871.6. Station traffic is at a near standstill due to political unrest on Bajor. Our only visitor today is a Cardassian warship 'showing the flag.' Either of these could have something to do with several recent attempts at sabotaging the station. We are currently investigating the problem...."
A notable departure from the usual platform game. You have the run of the station in just about any direction you choose. Graphics and animation are fairly decent, and the development of the game's plot is both logical and sensible. Treat this as your normal run-and-jump, and you will get bored fast. Accept it for the interactive puzzler that it is, and you will have lots of fun. One of the more enjoyable titles among the many games based on Gene Roddenberry's legendary franchise.

The game loosely followed the plot of the then-recently released Star Trek Generations motion picture. Notable departures included an additional battle against Tholian forces, a Romulan ambush involving both space and ground combat at Amargosa Station and a different resolution to the capture of Geordi La Forge.
Gameplay: The game combined three different styles of play with minor differences from level to level. Spaceflight was done in a primitive pseudo-3D environment. Players steered their ship from a first-person point of view, moving between markers or using phasers and later photon torpedoes to attack enemy vessels. On-foot levels were played from a top-down perspective and involved either phaser combat or labyrinth-like pathfinding. The remaining levels consisted of simple puzzles such as symbol matching.

Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator is an arcade action game where you take control of the Starship Enterprise. Your mission is to save the Federation from NOMAD! Before you get a chance at destroying NOMAD, you'll have to battle your way through ten levels (each consisting of multiple rounds). In each round you may encounter Klingon fighters, deadly anti-matter saucers, asteroid fields, and deadly meteors, all of which are capable of depleting the Enterprises energy. The game ends when your energy supply has completely run out. To fight these dangers, the Enterprise is equipped with an unlimited supply of phasers and a limited supply of photon torpedoes. Each round also contains one or more star bases; if you dock at a star base, some of your supplies (such as energy and torpedoes) will be replenished. The game is played from two points of view; the top of the screen contains a third person view of the Enterprise (along with the ships gauges), and on the bottom of the screen is a first person point of view

"Captain's log. It has been two days since Starfleet canceled our leave on Hobson Delta II. The Enterprise has been sent to the Neutral Zone to monitor new Romulan activity, which is under the premise of a search for a lost research team. While the crew is unaware of the full extent of our orders, they can read a star chart as well as I. They know where we are...."
Maneuver your favorite user of the Enterprise crew in away-team missions around various sites, using their individual skills to solve various puzzles. There are a few flight simulator scenes aboard the ship as well. Trekkies will grok this one, but the rest of us will need a hint book to get anywhere.
