As a penguin, you must travel around Antarctica, making your way between bases before time runs out. This sounds easy, right? Wrong. Hindering your progress will be ice crevices and leopard seals.
You can jump over the crevices, but jumping over the leopard seals may be difficult. You can speed up or slow down the penguin to avoid both of these hazards. The bases include Australia, France, New Zealand, USA, Argentina, UK, and Japan. You can collect flags and eat fish for points. Collecting a flashing flag will allow you to wear a propeller that enable you to fly over those hazards.

The object of the game is to meet (or exceed) the daily quota of citing or arresting various types of law-breakers within a time limit for the day. The player is given an overhead view of Officer Bob's patrol car, number 54. The player controls the car with a gas pedal and a steering wheel. The player receives "demerits" for accidental collisions, running over pedestrians, and failing to make quota. The player gains bonuses for a "perfect day" and each arrest over the quota. Picking up donuts extends the time limit for a day. Driving through filling stations refuels the patrol car. Driving through the garage(once a day) upgrades the patrol car with brakes, guns, armor, radar, etc.
The game begins by having the player ticket common misdemeanor infractors (such as those littering) by pulling up behind them, pushing the siren button and having them pull over. Eventually, the game gives the player the task of arresting fugitive felons. Every other day, starting on the third day, the player can go after an A.P.B. ("All Points Bulletin"). When a fugitive is caught and returned to the station, the player must "persuade" (i.e., rattle) a confession out of them before the Chief enters the room. This is done by filling the "Confess-O-Meter" by tapping alternatively on the "fire" and "siren" buttons.
The game ends when the player reaches his demerit maximum. When the demerit limit is reached, the game shows the player being pulled over and cuffed by other officers with the message "TOO MANY DEMERITS. YOU ARE FIRED."

Take the futuristic speed and atmosphere found in F-Zero and mix in a little battle mode from Super Mario Kart, and you've got Battle Cars, a game with three types of cars and 14 different tracks. Players can shoot missiles and bombs at other cars in order to upgrade their vehicles to compete against bosses and race on tougher courses. One particularly effective weapon can even stall enemy cars in their tracks. The audio/visuals in this game are merely competent, and the racing action is hampered by uneven (and somewhat frustrating) controls, depending on how the car has been upgraded. Still, it's a fairly enjoyable game that is a challenge to complete.

Unlike most games of the era, Battle Grand Prix (an F-1 racer with a number of realistic options) sports an old-school overhead viewpoint, which, in this particular case, makes it difficult to see oncoming obstacles. The playfield is split-screen, even in one-player mode, exacerbating the problem by shrinking the field of view. Arrows flashing indicate the direction of curves up ahead, and this helps somewhat. In this game players can select from more than 40 different drivers, 24 different racing teams, and three modes of Grand Prix circuits. Cars can be customized in terms of suspension, brakes, and engine, and it is necessary to make pit stops from time to time. Overall, the game has decent graphics and sounds and a good dose of realism, but the viewpoint doesn't do players any favors.

FLOOR IT!
And accelerate into a coast-to-coast feat of stamina, wits and coordination in the heart-pounding sequel to Out Run. Chase down and capture eight of the fastest, nastiest Syndicate baddies on wheels. Strap yourself in and grab hold of the wheel. And get ready to smash, crash and bash your way to glory.
Battle Out Run is Sega's answer to Taito's Chase H.Q.. You drive a red sports car and must apprehend eight target vehicles in selected cities across the USA, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and New York. You have to do this while avoiding yellow cars and other obstacles. Halfway through the eight stages, you enter a shop that allows you to upgrade your car and get some nitros, as long as you have money, and you will be rewarded if you apprehend the vehicles. This can be done by bumping into them to disable them.
You simply have to zoom down the road, avoiding the traffic, catch up with the drug dealer's car and stop him. Tiresome Out Run rehash.

The gameplay involves racing monster trucks including the title truck, BigFoot (blue). The computer controlled trucks are green (The Growler), and yellow (The Charger) if the computer's truck runs out of money and cannot repair their rig. It was not uncommon for a skilled player to be challenged by three to four different monster trucks during the game. In two player mode the 2nd player's truck is red. The object of the game is to advance to the next level (race) with incurring the least amount of damage as possible. The levels consist of car crushing, mud bog, tractor pull, hill climb, and the later levels is a combination of everything (except the sled pull) and is simply called a drag race. To advance to the next event you must complete a "cross country" race collecting money, points, etc. without damaging your truck.
