He needs to go to America to find a person named Walter Smith. As he adventures though America he encounters enemies along the way trying to stop him to reach his goal.
One of the best beat-'em-ups. Compelling gameplay and good animation make this a ninja classic.

Ninja Ryūkenden is a side scrolling action game by Hudson Soft and based on the arcade game of the same name released by Tecmo in 1988 (it is rather a port of the Famicom game, see the info section). The player controls Ryu Hayabusa, a fearless ninja on a quest of revenge. His father was killed by a mysterious ninja during a fierce duel. After reading a note left by his father, Ryu travels to the United States to meet Dr. Walter Smith, one of his father's friend. But he soon gets head to head with a young girl who hands him a weird looking statue before disappearing. The complex plot of the game unfolds over no less than six acts (with a total of nearly twenty stages) and Ryu will finally find out what happened to his father and who hides behind his disappearance. Ryu Hayabusa is equipped with a sword which he can use at lightning-speed to slash his enemies to bits. He also has the incredible ability to wall-jump and to climb vertical surfaces. Finally, Ryu can use his spiritual energy to augment his powers and trigger powerful special attacks such as mystic shurikens or the ability to shoot flames. Various energy forms scattered around some of the levels reward Ryu with spiritual energy. They are often in the shape of burning flames but they also come in various forms such as insects or small animals.

Compilation of the three games in the Ninja Gaiden series, which were originally released on the NES.
A solid action game, with stellar graphics (in most stages, anyway) and a variety of weapons. The story is told intermission-style between stages with awesome cinemas. Unfortunately, the latter stages tend to be frustratingly hard.

Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom is a side-scrolling platform game in which the player controls the player character Ryu Hayabusa as he investigates the events behind Irene Lew's death. In the game, Ryu can jump, hang, and climb up and down walls with the control pad; pressing the jump button while holding the control pad the direction away from the wall causes Ryu to spring off the wall. Ryu is also able to attack enemies with secondary weapons while on a wall by pressing the attack button. A new feature introduced in Ninja Gaiden III is the ability for Ryu to hang overhead from pipes or ivy; he can swing up on top or drop from them, and as with walls, he can only attack enemies while hanging with secondary weapons.

A lazily produced reissuing of three great NES classics in one cartridge, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy includes Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos and Ninja Gaiden III. Each game remains faithful to its corresponding original in terms of gameplay, but the graphics have barely been updated (there are more colors and no flickering), the lightning in level 3-1 of the second game is missing and the backgrounds for the desert level in game three are totally non-scrolling. Passwords are a welcome addition, but the controls (B for attacking and A for jumping) are awkward and cannot be reconfigured. The most inexcusable disappointment is that the highly memorable music has been rearranged and otherwise altered for the worse. To see how a compilation of older games should be done, check out Super Mario All-Stars.

As you wheel your speedy Ferrari along winding roads, huge bolts of lightning arc brilliantly across the sky. You put your lead foot all the way to the floor, and your car moves effortlessly across the slick highway. Slowing down for the turn, you skid into the parking lot of the lab. You are Lester Knight Chaykin, cool scientist extraordinaire.
After passing the standard series of entry tests, you are given the high level of clearance necessary for entry into the lab. With a loud sigh, you collapse into the comfortable plush computer chair and flick on your trusty computer. Opening a can of soda, you take a huge gulp as the machine loads up. With the swiftness that only years of experience can bring, you type in commands and begin the nuclear experiment. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning surges into the lab and collides with your experiment, winking you out of existence.
Seconds later you find yourself sitting in your chair, submerged in a pool of water. You feverishly swim toward the surface as tentacles (!) reach up for you. After a narrow escape, you climb out of the water and look around. You are greeted by an entirely new environment, one of strange animals gone mad. A blood-curdling howl cuts through the silence, and you scramble to your feet. Where are you? You are out of *THIS* world.

You're Lester Knight Chaykin, a physicist who likes to work alone. During your latest stint down at the lab, lightning struck the particle accelerator and caused your anti-matter experiment to go haywire, opening a dimensional vortex and hurling you into another world - a world where you have only your wits to survive the many perils ahead.
A fantastic-looking, excellently-executed, and hard-as-hell adventure game that is well worth the frustration. The opening cinema alone is now an acknowledged classic in the genre. A bit heavy on the puzzles, to be sure, but man - what a game!

Panzer Dragoon Mini is a Shoot-'Em-Up game, developed and published by Sega, which was released in Japan in 1996.
Due to the technical limitations of the Game Gear, it plays closer to the classic Sega arcade game Space Harrier, although it has the lock-on feature; also, for the first and (so far) only time in the series' history, the dragon doesn't have a rider.

This is mostly the parody of Gradius (Nemesis on some systems), with some flavor from other shoot-em-ups, like Twinbee. The series is available on numerous platforms.
The game is a right-to-left scrolling shoot-em-up. You can choose from 4 different flying creatures, with different weapons. You must finish 7 stages, each having a boss at the end. You may start at either one, but must complete every level to advance to the final stage.

Parodius Non-Sense Fantasy, released in Japan as Parodius Da! -Shinwa kara Owarai e, is a shoot'em up arcade game and is the second title in the Parodius series produced by Konami.
As stated above, gameplay is very similar to the Gradius series, with a few differences. Parodius retains the selectability of different weapons configurations but implements via four different characters: Vic Viper (from Gradius), Octopus, Twin Bee, and Pentarou. The second main difference is the addition of bell power-ups, from the Twinbee series. These bells act as one-time power-ups, allowing you to destroy every enemy on screen, fire huge beams of energy, etc. Enemies and environments from the Gradius games and Twinbee are mixed in along, with a host of anime-style opponents, which include scantily-clad women. All of the Gradius elements are integrated in a very light-hearted fashion. The Big Core, a regular boss within the Gradius series, is given a neon-look and is called "Viva Core".

Story: The game is set in early 2022, predating the storyline of the Nintendo 64 game by one year. Joanna Dark is still a student at the Carrington Institute and she is eager to complete the final stages of her training. After completing her training successfully, scoring an A++, Daniel Carrington sends her to her first ever mission with the Carrington Institute: She must destroy an illegal cyborg manufacturing facility, deep into the South American jungle.
Gameplay: Perfect Dark is an action game that is presented from an overhead perspective, similar to Konami's Metal Gear Solid for the Game Boy Color. Joanna Dark, the playable main character, can move and shoot in eight directions and must initially complete a training mode where she will be provided a fixed sequence of challenges so that the player learns the game mechanics. These mechanics include the use of stealth, in which players are challenged to kill enemies by sneaking up behind them without making noise (e.g. running or reloading weapons), a memory type game that involves pressing various buttons in a specific order to open up doors, and a target range in a first-person view for shooting practise, among others.

Predator: Soon The Hunt Will Begin is an 2D action game. There are 30 stages in the game, and each one is split up into two modes: Jungle Mode, and Big Mode.
In Jungle Mode, the object of the game is to survive the dangers of the jungle while you shoot down guerillas and wildlife using variety of weapons including machine guns, laser rays, and grenades (all with unlimited ammo). You exit the stage by entering a cave to proceed to the next level. Sometimes there is more than one cave, and you will be warped to another stage other than the next one, depending on what cave you enter.
After three or so stages, you enter the game's Big Mode. The object here is to blast blue and purple spheres before they have a chance to hurt you. Some spheres have power-ups that will increase your firepower. When you have made some distance, you have to defeat the Predator before you can continue on to the next stage. Big Mode is the same throughout the game, but the only difference here is the Predator's attack pattern.

You star as Lieutenant Mike Harrington an LA Cop caught up in the city's worst nightmare! An alien species (Predator) has come to town and he's got some carnage to reign. It's up to YOU to stop him!
The game is a shooter style game ala Terminator 2 in the arcades. Movement is controlled by mouse or keyboard. There are weapon powerups to be had and innocent civilians to be saved.
Jerky scrolling, a high difficulty level, boring gameplay and poor sound. The poorest version of a reasonable game. Yawn!
