Trapped within deadly Alien Control Sectors, your squad of Space Commanders must shoot it out with dangerous Alien Droids in order to survive. Only your keen reflexes and trusty laser pistol stand in the way of your total annihilation! You'll have to be sharp, though. Droids lurk behind every corner of each randomly generated Sector, and all of them must be destroyed before you can make a break into a more challenging maze! And watch out for the walls! They're radioactive. The slightest contact will quickly turn you into a cloud of debris.

An unusual pseudo-3D fighter that eschews the traditional SF2-style platform approach in favor of superdeformed characters matched together in ring-style bouts.

Looks rather comical, but is well done. Takes some getting used to, though, so you might want to save it for those days when you're tired of standard fighting fare.

Kablooey is a low-budget puzzler in which players control a little bug-eyed creature with an affinity for detonating bombs. Viewed from an isometric perspective, each of the game's 130 levels takes place on an arrangement of tile "islands" situated above "water." There are three types of bombs (small, medium and large), each of which blows up the block it's on and, in the case of medium and large bombs, a certain number of surrounding tiles. The key strategy is to detonate the bombs in the right order to avoid being stranded without any tiles to stand on. Later levels introduce enemies, transporters, slippery tiles, mines and other obstacles. Gameplay is tricky enough to please hardcore puzzle fans, and the password feature staves off frustration, but maneuvering the character diagonally takes some getting used to. Other setbacks include a repetitive voice sample (Get ready!), a horrendous tune that repeats itself interminably, and graphics that would look at home on the more primitive NES.

Our charming "Mad Bomber" really doesn't mean any harm. It's just that he loves nothing better than to drop his bombs and watch them explode. Only you can stop him. As he tosses his bombs, you race to douse their fuses with your buckets of water. The more bombs that splash in your buckets, the more points you score. But, the more points you score, the faster the bombs drop. Miss a bomb, and you'll learn how Kaboom! got its name.

That menacing Mad Bomber is back! And, this time, he's meaner and mightier than ever. He'll have you running your buckets of water as fast as you can carry them. Try to douse his bombs before they douse you.
Or, if you're feeling really relentless, then you play the Mad Bomber and let someone else try to catch your bombs.
All of the looney action is set to the tune of the 1812 Overture. Register your high scores on-screen, just like the arcades.

One day, a mysterious theme park called Karakuri Land appeared in Edo. In it were various mechanical attractions, built around different themes. Many people went to visit, and the park was very popular. The princess asked Yanchamaru if he would like to go with her, but since he was busy with his training, she went by herself. However, she didn't come back, and so Yanchamaru must make his way through the oddly-aggressive attractions to find and rescue the princess!

Kaiketsu Yanchamaru 2 is the sequel to Kid Niki, and once again stars the big-headed, sword-spinning, headband-sporting fighter Yanchamaru. Each stage is based around a theme, such as a world built from cakes and a world built from volcanoes, and each is filled with animatronic enemies, with a boss at the end. Yanchamaru has his trusty spinning sword, and can also find bonus items to improve his abilities and increase his score.

Dezaemon is a vertical shooter editor developed and published by Athena. This unusual title comes with an already build-in vertical shooter called Daioh Gale, but this is only half of what's on offer here. Dezaemon allows the player to create his own vertical shooters - draw all the in-game sprites, design the levels, edit enemy attack patterns, customize power-ups and even compose the music tracks. Daioh Gale somehow shows what the editor is capable of, featuring waves of enemy spaceships, power-ups, special effects and large bosses - and all aspects of this built-in game can be changed and tailored with the editor.

A boat lowers the player towards the bottom of the screen. Try to avoid the fish or push left or right to fire a harpoon at them. When at the bottom, if you walk over one of treasure caches, you will be lowered into it. Then you will be raised back to the ship (again, avoid the fish).

Kaizō Chōnin Shubibinman is a side scrolling action game by Masaya and published by NCS. A crazy, yet genius professor named "Doc" sends two of his brand new and most skilled cyborgs (a boy called Tasuke and a red haired girl named Kuapiko) against an army of evil machines that have taken over the city. With the help of their special suits and powerful energy-swords, they fight waves of enemies of increasing strength, as well as bigger and badder bosses until they eventually reach the lair of their furious leader - the evil Dark Skull. Unlike other games of its kind, the action starts in the professor's laboratory and players are free to choose the path the characters take until they finally reach their final destination - the Dark Skull's castle. The game is really flexible on that aspect of the gameplay - a map shows the locations of the various areas to visit and players can always go back and take a different path if they wish to. Although stages can be optionally skipped, some of them give players a chance to collect unique power-up items. Enemies drop all kind of items when killed - power-cells, invulnerability, super-jump, smart-bombs and so forth. They also drop gold bars and the accumulated treasure can be later used to purchase new upgrades from Doc's laboratory. Finally, a two player simultaneous mode is available where players can execute combination combos and attacks.

Kaizō Chōnin Shubibinman 2 is the sequel to the more than average first title released in 1989 for the PC Engine system. The strong Tasuke and the cute Kyapiko (aka Arnold and Sonya in the American version) are back in this intense side scrolling action game. This time around, our heroes have swapped their power-swords for more conventional laser guns. The guns can also be charged up (by holding the fire button) to unleash powerful blasts of energy. Another interesting feature of the game is the alternance of platform and shooting stages. For instance, right after the first level and the crazy chase jumping from building tops to building tops, our heroes embark on a pocket-submarine and get their way through a treacherous underwater cave. A two simultaneous player mode is available and, interestingly, both players share the same life bar.

Kamikaze is a simple two-dimensional shooter. You control your laser base against an endless stream of alien invaders. The invaders don't come in set waves. Instead, they come in a constant stream. Once you have gotten through one barrage of aliens, more are just behind to continue the action. Your job is to keep them from overwhelming you with their superiority in numbers. Kill or be killed, that is the objective.

Kamikaze is one of the follow-up games that rode on the wave of the "Space Invaders" craze. The game itself is simple in concept but the action gets fast paced real quickly. Especially since several things can be going on at the same time during the game.
