Keith Courage in Alpha Zones was included in the box with the North American version of the system. Originally released in Japan under the title Mashin Eiyuden Wataru, which is adapted from the anime television series of the same name (Spirit Hero Wataru).
Considering how bad this game is, I'm shocked that NEC made Keith Courage the "pack-in" game for the Turbografx-16 system. What a lousy first impression! Keith Courage in Alpha Zones wallows in platform game cliches and poor design.
Lacking its own useridentity, it feels like a bastard child of every mediocre platformer I've ever played.

Mejin Eiyu Wataru is based on a Japanese animation series created by Sunrise, also responsible for some of the most famous mecha-anime aired in the 80s/90s. The player controls a kid who has the amazing power to transform into a powerful robot-warrior when a enters the Rainbow Shrine, sorts of door connecting the Earthto the demon world. Each level is split into two parts. In the first one, our hero wonders around as a normal kid and can use his sword to defeat standard enemies and collect money. This well earned cash can then be spend in shops to purchase better swords, more life or more bombs (activated by pressing up and attack). When our hero enters a Rainbow Shrine, he then turn into a powerful robot and gets warped to an area with nastier monsters and deadlier hazards. Once there, only one thing will get him warped back on Earth. He will have to find and defeat the guardian hidding somewhere in this part of the demon world. The game offers infinite continues, but in a way similar to Role Playing Games, the price to pay is half of our hero's stock of bombs and money.

M.A.S.H. is loosely based off of the hit TV show of the same name. It is actually two separate games that can be played four different ways. In each game you play Hawkeye and play against Trapper who is either player 2 or the computer. The object of either game is to get 1,000 points first.
The first game is a Choplifter style game where you must maneuver your helicopter through the jungles of Korea picking up the wounded until your chopper is full and then return them safely to base. You will have to compete with Trapper in collecting the limited number of wounded while navigating through the trees and past tanks who are trying to shoot your copter down.
In the second game you're in the operating room and must remove the bullets from your fallen comrades without further injuring him, much like the board game Operation.
Style one is Welcome to Korea which features both styles of game switching back and forth. Style two is Operating Room which is just the Operation challenge. Style three is Chopper Challenge is just the Choplifter style game. Style four is Heavy Flak which is just like style three but with many more injured to rescue and more tanks to avoid.

You've been piloting your chopper low through the trees, picking up wounded and rushing them back to the 4077th MASH unit. There was enemy fire all around you, and you're still shaking like a leaf. You'd like to rest now, but time is running out for the soldiers you've rescued. There's no way around it. The pressure is on. You'll have to operate. And it's going to take a steady hand and a hawk eye.
