Mario and Wario is a 1993 Mario side-scrolling puzzle video game designed by Satoshi Tajiri and developed by Game Freak for the Super Famicom console. The game was released only in Japan on August 27, 1993 and requires the SNES Mouse accessory to play.
Mario & Wario focuses on Mario, who has various objects, including buckets and vases, placed atop his head by the antagonist Wario. Because the objects render Mario sightless, it is the main goal of the player to guide Mario through each level, which consist of various obstacles and traps, to his brother Luigi, who can remove the offending object. The player must also complete each level within a specified time limit. Because Mario will constantly walk left or right regardless of any oncoming hazards, the player controls the fairy Wanda, who possesses the ability to manipulate the environment in order to protect Mario.

The game features the return of Wario's nemesis, Captain Syrup. Early one morning, she and a few of her soldiers, the Pirate Gooms (Spearmen, which are holdovers from Wario Land; several different levels deal with defeating a giant Spearman), sneak into Wario's Castle and cause havoc. They steal his precious treasure, set off his giant alarm clock, and leave the tap running, flooding much of his castle. After Wario wakes up and figures out what's going on, he gives chase across the surrounding lands.

Story: One day, Wario's plane stalls and crashes while he is flying over the woods. Uninjured, he spends the rest of his afternoon wandering amongst the trees and underbrush until he stumbles upon a mysterious cave. Inside the cave, he discovers a magical music box and is suddenly sucked into it. There, a mysterious figure informs Wario that he had once ruled the world inside the music box, until an evil being sealed away his magical powers in five music boxes. In exchange for freeing it, the being promises to send Wario back to his own world and let him keep any treasure he finds. Enticed by the thought of returning to his own world with a cache of treasure, Wario departs on his quest, in search of the music boxes and the many treasures of this mysterious land.
Gameplay: The gameplay in Wario Land 3 is very similar to that of its predecessor, Wario Land II. Wario is indestructible, and must take advantage of his enemies' attacks to physically change and access new areas. For example, if Wario eats a piece of food from a certain enemy, he bulks up to twice his size, giving him the ability to break strong blocks and extra protection against attacks. While Wario will always be affected by his enemies, he must also find new powers and abilities in order to progress through the game.

Wario's Woods is a puzzle game similar to Tetris or Columns, but with a twist. Instead of directly controlling the monsters and bombs that are falling down, the player controls Toad who has to carry around stacks of monsters and bombs and to combine them in the right way. One bomb plus at least two monsters of the same color have to be combined to make them disappear. If five or more objects are cleared at the same time, a diamond will appear. Destroying the diamond will clear all monsters of the diamond's color. There are four different ways to pick up objects. The A button lets Toad pick up the whole stack that is in front of him, the B button lets him only pick up one object, even if it's in the middle of a stack, the Y button lets him kick a monster or bomb that's in front of him and the X button places him on top of the stack that he is carrying. He can also run up walls and stacks to catch falling objects out of the air or to pick up certain parts of a stack.
There are 5 different modes of play: a "Round Game" in which Toad has to clear numerous levels, a match versus a computer controlled opponent, a two player mode, a "Time Race" mode, and finally, an extensive training mode.
There are some differences between the SNES and NES versions. Due to a lack of buttons, controls are a little different in the NES version (although all the moves from the SNES version are present). Also, there is no vs. mode against the computer, but the "Round Game" mode features two modes of play: one that includes boss-fights on every level ending with a 9.

Wario has taken over the peaceful woods of the Mushroom Kingdom, bringing unwelcome monsters along with him. Help Toad put an end to this madness by eliminating the monsters in Nintendo's Wario's Woods. Gameplay involves controlling Toad as he struggles to move the falling monsters into usergroup of three or more (diagonally, horizontally or vertically).
Your goal is to defeat all of the monsters on the level so you can move onto the next round. Friends Catherine and Sprite will toss bombs from a tree, so match them together with other bombs or monsters of the same color to remove them from the playing field. Wario will make appearances now and then to lower the tree's ceiling, so move quickly. If the entire screen fills up with bombs and monsters, the game will end!
Wario's Woods is for one or two players. Game modes include: Versus Mode against either the computer or a second player, Time Race, Lesson, Round Game, and Option to customize gameplay. A battery in the cartridge enables you to save your progress.
