Aim for the Ace! is a story-driven tennis Super Famicom video game for girls, based on the manga of the same name. It was developed by Nippon Telenet and released on December 22, 1993. The main character has to win the love of an older student by winning in a tennis tournament. The object in the game is to beat the opponents while trying not to get distracted by the early 3D rotational graphics. There is even a practice mode for younger girls who wish to brush up on their tennis skills before taking on the real competition.

Andre Agassi takes to the Master System. This is a fairly decent attempt to cash in on the tennis season. After mastering all the tournaments, you play against Mr. Andre Agassi in a final grudge match in order to determine who is the best tennis player in the video game world.

Sports game featuring tennis superstar Andre Agassi, who also helped in the design of the game.

Not great graphically, and the sound is merely adequate, but the player animation is smooth and it has some of the best gameplay you will ever see in a tennis sim. A keeper, if only to say you have a tennis sim in your pile of Genesis carts.

Andre Agassi Tennis is a TecMagik-produced tennis title released on the Super Nintendo in 1993. While the game doesn't feature any Grand Slam licenses, the player will take a warm welcome to the Andre Agassi license from video stills in the introduction to the availability of him as a character.

Game modes include Practice, Exhibition, and Tournament modes. Practice mode is pretty self-explanatory as you can tune up on your finer points of your game against an opponent or with a ball machine. Exhibition mode allows play in normal and skins mode (where money is the object of the game) with the option to play on clay, grass, or indoor courts in one-player singles, one-player doubles and two-player singles and doubles. The final mode is the more competitive Tournament mode where players are challenged in sixteen-player knockout tournaments with the option of men's or women's games and types of court. On top of this, players can choose from eight players including Agassi with each player rated in the fields of speed and forehand, backhand, and serve in the areas of strength and accuracy.

Andre Agassi Tennis also features two difficulties, amateur and professional while the two-player option is always a winner.

Tennis game featuring many American tennis professionals.

A solid tennis sim with great gameplay and even greater graphics. It may not appeal to the elusive "girl gamer" as all the characters are men, but the superb quality of this game may very well make up for it.

Designer and programmer of such Atari VCS classics as Pitfall! and The Activision Decathlon, David Crane's Amazing Tennis disappoints with its low view of the court, which makes it hard to see certain shots as well as the other side of the playfield. The graphics and animations are very nice, and there are plenty of realistic options (15 right- or left-handed players, three court surfaces, etc.), but slow-to-respond controls and that pesky viewpoint mar the game beyond recommendation.

One of two well-designed tennis sims from the Old World built around competition for the Davis Cup, one of the sport's top honors.

Now this is more like it! The graphics are a bit silly and the gameplay leans on the arcade side, but it plays smooth and has all the options most people would ever want. Easy to manage, too. It's not the best tennis sim out there, but it'll do for most folks.

EA Sports branches farther afield, as it tries its hand at a professional tennis sim.

Yet another winner for the EA team. No other Genesis tennis sim comes close, and only Wimbledon surpasses it. Is there a sporting sim at which EA hasn't excelled yet?

1. A training mode with five different instructors to hone various areas of your game.

2. An exhibition mode, in which you have the option of playing singles or doubles matches against the computer or watching the computer play demo matches. There are 16 players in the game (Jimmy Connors along with 15 fictional players), and all are selectable in exhibition mode.

3. The meat of the game is in the tour mode. Tour mode is divided into 12 months, and a certain number of tennis tournaments are held each month. For example, in January, the Australian Open is held, along with two other tournaments. Every tournament is worth a certain number of points for winning it, with major tournaments obviously worth more than minor tournaments. You will receive a certain number of points depending on your finish in each tournament which are added up over the course of the year. After each month of tour mode, you are given a password. If you choose to take a break from playing, you must write down this password to continue where you left off. Your objective is to achieve the number one ranking in the world by the end of the year by having the most points. All four of the Grand Slam tournaments are here, and Blue Byte added their own tournament as a fifth major.
