Decent weapons, impressive graphics, intense gameplay.

Thunder Force 2, is the first game in the series for the G/MD and one of the few sequels that incorporated its ancestor into itself - the top-down down sequences are reminiscent of Bosconian, and the side-scrolling sequences smack strongly of R-Type.

In Thunder Force 3 the top-down view is gone, leaving only the side-scrolling game with better graphics and a slightly enhanced weapons system.
