Essentially, the game is an exercise in supply and demand economics that is set in space (on the planet Irata, which is Atari backwards) and involves competition between four players. To win the game, the players not only must compete against each other, but they need to cooperate with each other for the survival of the colony. Central to the game is the acquisition and use of "M.U.L.E."s (Multiple Use Labor Element) to develop and harvest the player's real estate which can consist of: Energy, Food, Smithore (from which M.U.L.E.s are constructed), and Crystite. Players must balance supply and demand of these four elements (Crystite is available as an option during Tournament play only) as well as other events such as fires, theft, etc. The game was revolutionary in the ease with which it allowed multiplayer interaction.

You are now a member of the Silent Service, the US Navy Submarine command. For a long while after Pearl Harbor, you are the only forces capable of striking back at the Japanese in the Pacific. Take one of the "fleet boats" and go on extended patrols of up to 2 months from Hawaii, Australia, or New Zealand. Set your difficulty/realism level and time period (early means less tech for juicier targets, later means tougher escorts, more tech, lousier targets). Contend with factors like dud torpedoes, maximum depth, and more.
You can choose among practice run against some old hulks, recreate historical convoy attacks, go on a single patrol, or go on your own campaign, which lets you go multiple patrols until you die, get promoted, or survive the war.
How well will you do when matched against history?

Developed in 1991 and released by Maxis, SimAnt is a simulation game in which you play as an ant. That's right, an ant. However, it's actually more fun than it seems. You control the only yellow ant in the colony as you search for food, communicate with your allies, take on spiders and centipedes, and even fight with other colonies. You can control many facets of your colony, such as work caste and what types of ants are born, for example, creating mostly soldiers because you're going to clash with another colony, or creating workers to harvest food. A game that is really actually unique and worth trying at least once.

Elect yourself mayor of a city with SimCity 2000 for the Super Nintendo. As mayor, it is your job to build the city from the ground up and ensure that your citizens have everything they need. You'll need to finance, build and maintain houses, bridges, power plants, military bases, factories, airports, fire stations, roads, shops, a water supply system and other staples of city life. Also, you will want to beautify your city by adding trees, lakes and ponds. Bulldozers are available for use in landscaping, changing the altitude of the land and de-zoning residential, commercial and industrial land.
As your city grows, you must increase transportation routes and build more facilities for your citizens. High taxes, pollution, overcrowding, poor city planning and other problems can drive away the masses, putting your city's future in doubt. Floods, fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and monsters can also have an effect on the success or lack thereof of your city. Read the (biannual) newspaper to keep up with current events and to find out what the citizens are saying. Maps are available for when you need help in planning the future of your city.

SimEarth: The Living Planet is an adaptation of Maxis Software's 1990 PC game. You are in control of your own planet, nurturing it from birth until its eventual destruction ten billion years into the future. There are several decisions you must make regarding your planet, such as which species should be first; the type of atmosphere; whether or not to create forests, deserts or oceans to develop new life; or using volcanoes, meteor showers or tidal waves to help shape your world the "natural" way.
Using various maps, graphs and slider bars, you'll be able to adjust each detail of your world to your liking. Three levels of difficulty are available for budding environmentalists, and there are eight different planets to choose from. If you still can't find a worthy place to call your home, you can create a randomly generated planet and start from scratch. Who knows? Maybe humans won't be the most advanced species in your world. This 8-Meg cartridge includes battery backup to save your planet's progress during the multiple scenarios.

Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator is an arcade action game where you take control of the Starship Enterprise. Your mission is to save the Federation from NOMAD! Before you get a chance at destroying NOMAD, you'll have to battle your way through ten levels (each consisting of multiple rounds). In each round you may encounter Klingon fighters, deadly anti-matter saucers, asteroid fields, and deadly meteors, all of which are capable of depleting the Enterprises energy. The game ends when your energy supply has completely run out. To fight these dangers, the Enterprise is equipped with an unlimited supply of phasers and a limited supply of photon torpedoes. Each round also contains one or more star bases; if you dock at a star base, some of your supplies (such as energy and torpedoes) will be replenished. The game is played from two points of view; the top of the screen contains a third person view of the Enterprise (along with the ships gauges), and on the bottom of the screen is a first person point of view

Bullfrog's comical business simulation Theme Park, challenges you to build a financially successful amusement park amidst heavy competition. You'll begin by purchasing land to build your first effort, and then make decisions on the type of rides (each rated in excitement, reliability, and maximum capacity), concessions (from coffee shops to Balloon Lands), and layout (placing trees, fences, lakes, and restrooms). You'll also have to hire staff to run your establishment, including entertainers, mechanics, and even guards to prevent hoodlums from spoiling the fun.
Of course, every piece of sidewalk, signpost or staff member will cost you money, so you'll have to make sure your park earns enough to support itself. This is done through building "hot" attractions and placing shops in locations to maximize their effectiveness. An icon driven interface involves using the pad to place objects within the park and buttons to choose various actions. Don't take too long building your park; the days are passing by while you play! Options include setting the game's difficulty level (easy, medium, or hard), the temperament of park visitors (happy, normal, or fussy), and level of competition (easy, medium, or hard).
