In a galaxy very far away, the fair and lovely Princess Angelica is out for a cruise with Pimple. As they float about space in their 1957 Space Shuttle, their vehicle is swallowed up by the Gargantua, a huge space station commanded by the Dark Evil Queen. Professor Bird Guy and his troop of toads to rescue them. Pimple's brothers, Rash and Zitz, are up for the challenge and the game is on!

Levels range from the usual beat 'em up side scrolling styles to racing and flying levels.

Battletoads is an action game originally released by Rare in 1991 for the Game Boy handheld game console from Nintendo. Despite having the same box art and title as the NES release, Battletoads for Game Boy is a completely different game with other levels. It was exclusively released for the Game Boy and was never ported to any other systems.

Essentially the player takes on nearly exactly the same type of side scrolling action found in the NES game, with similar but simplified graphics and enemies. It is only a single player game and starts out in a level similar to the NES game as well. As in the case of the original Battletoads, the Game Boy game is also notoriously difficult to beat, requiring fast reflexes, memorization of obstacles, and patience

However, there are many of differences in the levels and range in difficulty when encountering enemies or obstacles. The same "over-the-top" finishing combos can also be found in the Game Boy release.

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready to be pulled into a whacky story about
the Battletoads, including really big fists, feet and fast growing horns to ram
down your enemies. Also beware of the good looking race levels. They become quite
addictive. The difficulty is nevertheless pretty hard but the fun overweighs.

Who you gonna call? The Battletoads? Yes, these three, er, um, "fellas" would make turtle soup out of the Ninja Turtles - and besides, their chief nemesis the Dark Queen has more sex appeal than Shredder ever could. A series of platform fighters that appear to be either a tongue- in-cheek homage or a direct ripoff of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Venerable platform slugfest ported from the old NES, but with several minor improvements. It's difficult, but it's worth checking out.

Battletoads is an arcade beat 'em up. You have three toads to choose from. Each one of them is unique in certain ways, like Pimple's attacks are slower than the others but deal more damage, and Zitz's attacks are able to take out a wider group of enemies. Every stage in the game starts with the 'Toads receiving a threatening call from the stage's boss.

The Battletoads attempt to once again thwart the Dark Queen's latest galaxy dominating plans.

After being defeated by the Battletoads, the evil Dark Queen flees to the outer reaches of the universe and the 'Toads and their mentor get on with their lives. However, one day the Earth's military is neutralized and a giant spaceship called Colossus emerges from the moon. Apparently, the Dark Queen is back in another plan to dominate the galaxy, and she has allied herself with the Shadow Warriors (from the Double Dragon series) to supplement her forces. Deciding to even the odds, the Battletoads get in contact with Billy and Jimmy Lee and asks them for their help. The brothers agree, and all five immediately take off for the Colossus in a mission to stop this two-pronged threat.

After being defeated by the Battletoads the Dark Queen makes her way to Earth, where she uses a special beam to render Earth's military power useless. After discovering the Dark Queen's whereabouts, Professor T-Bird sends the Battletoads to stop her. However, the Queen has joined forces with the Shadow Boss to fortify her position. Whenever the Shadow Boss appears, Billy and Jimmy Lee the Double Dragons are there. You've got to help the Battletoads and Double Dragons fight their way through a variety of levels, using only their martial arts prowess. However, whacking an enemy with a piece of lumber might prove beneficial as well. Help defeat the Dark Queen and the Shadow Boss to return Earth to normal in BATTLETOADS DOUBLE DRAGON.

To combat the combined forces of the vengeful Dark Queen and the mighty Shadow Boss, the Battletoads and the Double Dragons have teamed up in this 16-bit remake of the NES original. You (or you and a friend in simultaneous two-player mode) can choose one of three Battletoads. As Zitz, Rash, or Pimple you fight your way through the seven levels of action, or you can be one of the Double Dragon brothers, Jimmy and Billy Lee.


Each team has its own fighting style: The Toads rely on big punches and kicks, headbutts, and slams, among other street-fighting maneuvers, while the Dragons fight using the various karate techniques that they are known for. Both teams incorporate a variety of special moves and weapons into their fighting. The most effective method for disposing of an enemy is to knock him to the ground and kick him off the screen. While Battletoads/Double Dragon:The Ultimate Team consists primarily of punch and kick, side-scrolling fights, at times it introduces elements of a shooter.

In Battletoads and Double Dragon - The Ultimate Team, the Lee twins from the Double Dragon series of Games help the Battletoads fight space aliens - a bit more of a fighter than its predecessor, but the graphics have taken a hit in the process.

The Dark Queen and her pigs are at it again. While witnessing the unveiling of a new virtual reality contraption, the Battletoads are surprised by four Psyko Pigs who crash into the room and kidnap Michiko Tashoku, daughter of the president of the corporation that created the machine. Zitz tries to prevent their escape, but he is knocked unconscious and taken away also. Now it is up to the remaining Battletoads, Rash and Pimple to rescue their buddy and Michiko in this side-scrolling punch and kick game.

This game can be played with one or two players, just like in the NES version. Both Battletoads are capable of many special fighting moves. The Sidearm Slice, Big Boot Block, and Ball 'N Chain are just a few of Rash's techniques. Pimple can execute, among other maneuvers, the Anvil Swipe, BT Big Hammer, Battletoad Butt, and Jaw-Buster. Throughout the eight levels of play, the 'Toads must face tons of obstacles, legions of Psyko Pigs, and a plethora of skeletons and other bad guys.

The Dark Queen has kidnapped your best friends and the hottest girl this side of the Mazallion Star Cluster. Don't go crying to the Space Cops. Because you're a Battletoad, you'll strap-on your kneepads, and take the matter into your own hands. Fight your way through hordes of nasties like Psyko Pigs, Mutant Rat Pack, Retro Blasters, and the Saturn Toadtrap. Luckily, you have a number of punishing moves including the Battletoad Butt, Big Bad Boot, and Kiss My Fist. Don't think that you have to go through all of the action on foot. There are times that your trusty speed bike will race you through the action. Rescue your friends and a date in BATTLETOADS IN RAGNAROK'S WORLD.

Pimple and Rash, two rad and bad toads, have been invited to take part in a demonstration by Professor T-Bird of the Gamescape, a powerful machine capable of creating an artificial world! Everything ran well until the villain of the game, the abominable Dark Queen (or Queen of Darkness), entered the scene and ordered her Pigs of the Apocalypse to capture all of those present to make them her slaves. The time of our heroes has arrived. It is time for them to rescue all of the staff and then put an end to the Queen of Darkness. But no matter how simple it may seem, the Dark Queen has prepared a legion of disciples to hinder the victory of the toads!
