If you miss he is going to mess you up before you can drop your gun and run again. You can try shooting from the hip but it's not likely.

The train in the second (I think) was really annoying at parts.

The only annoying parts were the train signals, everything else was fine for me.

Stage 5-1 and so on in Super Bomberman where you fight all the bomberman clones. For no other reason than because you're just so likely to run out the timer, die, and loose your precious power-ups (like the detonator bombs).

I never had issues in that, in fact those are my favorite levels.

Re: Worst Video Game Levels
First: Welcome to RU, unclechiken.
Second: It's not just the ice level for me, sure the slippery nature of ice levels are annoying, but I don't really like the standard platformer level tropes. Ice level, lava level, cave level, underwater level, cloud level and so on. I don't know, using these standard level-types bothers me, it just shows a lack of creativity and originality.

Re: Worst Video Game Levels
Welcome to RU unclechicken. I agree that ice levels are usually a cop out. I hate when a game is fun and then all the sudden it's a horrible a slippery level that just feels out of place. Btw that doesn't look like a chicken in your avatar. Looks more like a baby cockatiel except for the red coloring.

Re: Worst Video Game Levels
So he's your pet? I've never heard of them before but according to wiki they're a parrot species from NZ, is that right? If so they're neighbors with my pet birds ancestors-

Cockatiels. Mine is a 20 year old name Larry, not pictured but he looks like the pic.
Btw since you explained your name I'll explain mine. My brother and I used dudebro for character names when we couldn't think of anything else. It makes me laugh.

Re: Worst Video Game Levels
Hi Unclechicken and welcome to RU, the best site on the net!
I agree with you totally about ice levels.
Shouting at the screen may not help your game but it sure is therapeutic, eh?

So you prefer RPG's then?

Re: Worst Video Game Levels
I do prefer RPGs, but I'll like a platformer with different level types than the standard. Or, at least if the standard level-types are handled differently.
It's not like RPGs are free of reusing common themes and designs, anyway.

Sounds like you would enjoy Minecraft = it's a different game every time, with 2 different ways to play.
What I mean to say is that it sounds to me like you crave originality.
What could be more original than a whole world for you to craft to your own design?
{he says, sounding like a real MC addict}
ON TOPIC:
I don't like levels where it's difficult to find the item, action, or location that will advance the game.

This can apply to almost any kind of game but it seems most common to RPG's {which bugs me because I love RPG's too} where I end up walking around the whole map looking for that one item, action, or location that will trigger the start of the next part of the game.
{be it level, quest, or whatever as the case may be}
Couple this with the fact that {back in the day} a lot of games required extensive playing time to acquire the necessary whatever {coins, crystals, potions, armor, etc.} to get to that point in the first place ... and so there I was at like 4 AM, cursing that I couldn't find what it was I had to do to get the game into a condition worth saving, and not wanting to turn the game off because I would lose hours of progress ... do you know what I mean?

Reason: Item! Location! Action!!

Re: Worst Video Game Levels
I love Minecraft, it's still a bit too resource intensive for my terrible computer.
