Well, I don't think size is the issue with arcade games.
Here are the file sizes though:

Sounds like those are PAL versions of the game. MESS will enforce the region check if the game demands it. Our MESS is the NTSC Mega Drive/Genesis.

MESS is accurate to real hardware. You can't play PAL games on an NTSC console due to region protection. Also PAL games run at 50fps instead of NTSC 60fps so the game would be slower at best and break your TV/console at worst due to incompatible video signals.

This isn't exclusive to Genesis, it's the same for most video game consoles.

Marvel vs. Capom 2: 168.6MB on the Naomi system (http://mamedev.org/source/src/mame/drivers/naomi.c.html) (aka AC version of Dreamcast). So yes it is too big. Even if it were on the site your computer would not be able to run it at any decent speed (probably less than 20%).

Not sure if this bears any significance but my DS runs them great.

MAME will run Neo Geo games no problem, in fact many games on RU are for Neo Geo system, however the filesize for Metal Slug games is too big and would require too much bandwidth since a lot of people would play them.

Judging from the notes in the driver, it looks like the CPU runs at 50Mhz, which is very fast. I don't know if it will get 100% on most computers through ArcadeOX.

I'm aware of the graphical differences. I'm unaware of any gameplay differences between Tokkyu Shirei Soruburein and Shatterhand. Graphical/story differences aren't enough to merit hosting both games. We always give preference to the NA version and only host versions from other regions if there happens to be major differences in the versions.

Fun Fact: Tokkyu Shirei Soruburein (i.e. Super Rescue Solbrain) is a licensed game from a live action Japanese TV show of the same name.

How about Return of Double Dragon (japanese version of Super Double Dragon)?
Actually has a number of differences from US version, like difficulty, some gameplay changes like automatically catching boomerangs instead of being hit in the face, etc, and a whole new section at the end of the last mission missing in the US version.

No need to rate me up. It was more of the bad feeling I get when I want to help, but am literally unable to help. It happens whenever I pass a beggar on the street, I know he needs the money, I have the desire to help him, but I haven't the money to give him.
The same can be said of every time someone asks me for a cigarette, I want to give them a cigarette, I really do, but I don't smoke, and I cannot legally buy cigarettes.

I guess it is just that bit of me that wants to help anyone with any sort of problem.
