props kong! I tried the EDF one up to level 3 but it didn't seem altered other than the bullet sounds, I'll look more into it later though.

Folks, don't really post on the forums much but seemsa good opportunity say a massive thanks for all the work that goes in to this site. It's like an amazing arcade and living, growing museum all in one. Thank you!
Good to hear from you, hopefully we'll see you around the forum in the future.

The game is from the Japanese Satalite channel Satellaview - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It should be "enhanced" although I do not know what has been enhanced.
If there is nothing different besides the bullet sounds then I will probably delete it. Let me know.

well, from what I've heard, the arcade version has two different levels from the Snes one, I'm not sure if the Super Famicon version is different, but I'll check again. Don't delete it yet.

By the looks of this boxshot I stumbled upon, the levels are the same... I'm going to look more into gamefaqs to comfirm the last two levels.

Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi(nes)
Otherwise known as
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light(nes)
I deleted a couple hundred coin-op games today. Mainly Japanese trivia, mahjong, and duplicates. I also fixed some that were buggy.
Tomorrow I will add 459 new coin-op games and score enable all of them. The 10% that don't support scores will have scores disabled as we find them.
@James and DN. They don't exist in English.

Just a quick suggestion:
I couldn't find the correct forum to post game requests, so I suppose I'll just say it here.
I think it would be wicked to get Ragdoll Avalanche 2 on here. I've played that game a crapload of times and its uuuber addicting. Just sayin = )

Excellent additions Kong!!!
One quick question, do you have any plans to eventually add sequels/prequels to some of the ones on the list (i.e. MK II, MK III, World Heroes, Samurai Shodown II-V, etc.) or this the completed Coin-Op list?
Again, awesome additions.

nice
do you have any plans to eventually add sequels/prequels to some of the ones on the list (i.e. MK II, MK III, World Heroes, Samurai Shodown II-V, etc.) or this the completed Coin-Op list?
With very few exceptions the remaining Coin-Op games that could be added are
Mahjong games
Games that require reading Japanese
Gambling games.
Porn games
Games that are nearly identical to these games (European releases or sprite hacks)
Games that use more CPU than Beastorizer
Games that are larger than Street Fighter II Turbo
1 & 2 - I don't think many people want these.
3 most of these suck pretty bad. Better off playing a Flash version.
4 would break our PG13 rule.
5 I think some people would request these but I think it would cause more clutter and confusion than awesomeness.
6 & 7 would cause confusion and frustration and wouldn't work for most people.
So that is all the Coin-Op games that will be added for a while.
FYI. High scores have been enabled for all Coin-Op games without testing. Some of them need to be disabled or changed to golf style scores or set to farmable.

I was randomly playing some of the new arcade games added and also found a game ("A Question of Sport") that requires 2 coins to play. I imagine there's several games that are like this.
Is it possible to differentiate between games that need 1 coin vs. games that need 2 coins?

Games that use two coins need to have scores disabled. Post them here http://retrouprising.com/video-games/ru-games/information-questions-mods/t3200/
Also Trivia games need to be marked farm. Post them there too.
Later I will work on disabling pause for Trivia games so they can count as real scores.

Hey jusr wondering what happened to the VS arcade games.. I was looking for them and cant find them.
I removed Nintendo Vs. System - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Vs._System) and PlayChoice-10 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayChoice-10) because they were almost identical to the regular NES versions we already have and having near duplicates I thought was confusing.
Fell free to try to change my mind and discuss here. If you do make any comments let us know if you actually have played the arcade and NES versions and what differences you found.

I only played a few of the VS games but the changes were in game play speed.
You got a longer screen and faster and (for me atleast) easier game play. As a result game timers were also shorter. Granted being Arcade you had no pause button, so it really was "go until you stop".
It is kinda like the difference between console street fighter 2, and the Arcade version. (Only in this case difficulty went Way up ^^)
Thats just what I noticed any way. In castlevania nes I only get to about third level before stopping. The arcade one I was able to reach the dungeonish area.
P.S sorry for any spelling/grammer problems.. im using the Wii at the moment.

I never noticed it, and like the idea of playing till you cant. The finger pain is part of the experience. Besides, you cant pause arcade games..
Other systems though I like to be able to pause and rest, most of the games I play in score because they load faster.

I don't like this idea only because it makes it very tough to submit a score in some games that dissappear quickly when you die. The P is very helpful, and I think has helped decrease the number of bad score submissions in the queue. That's my 2 cents anyway. ;)
As someone mentioned the other day (maybe if was you Kong, I can't remember), I can see why removing the P in trivia games could be useful in preventing cheating, but I don't think that would really be the case in anything else.

I don't smoke, but I am notorious for starting a game, leaving the house for hours, coming back, and then finishing the game I was playing.

I think that's why Kong was thinking about removing the pause option. Someone would have to answer the question within the game's normal time frame. I think if Pause could be turned on or off in the Mod area that would be cool. Then we could just turn P off for trivia and similar games.

another thing with disabeling, we all want to be able to avoid situations like the steve weibe one where his kid needs his but wiped, and phone ringing, wife/gf/mom nagging related stuff and if you do have a marathon going, you shouldnt have to commit suicide to go run to the store for errands or whatever.

Also, 3 Count Bout has a glitch, the game loads briefly then exits the game window

I can see why removing the P in trivia games could be useful in preventing cheating, but I don't think that would really be the case in anything else. Also puzzle games and games like tetris and sometimes pausing in a game like double dragon or 1943 can give you a chance to examine the screen and make a better choice than if you played naturally.
I thought that trivia games were always considered farmable because of the fact you can find the answers online quickly.
They all have time limits. Eliminating pause would prevent googling.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't opening a new tab and switching the focus to something like google freeze the game anyways?
Some Play Modes auto pause if they lose focus. That could be changed too. But Steven and EB have good points about the pause. Maybe one day I will remove pause just for trivia games but not anytime soon.

That's cool. It would be fun for the trivia inclined, so those games could be score enabled, but I guess it's not top of the list for now.

Some great additions guys, thanks a lot.
Tried a few out and found some that were really fun. Just played a shoot 'em up called Strikers 1945 which was great. Huge sprites, lots of colours - but very tough! Didn't submit a score.
Also, noticed a previous post that mentioned a PG13 rule. You might want to think again about leaving a game called Swinging Singles up - some rather, erm, sexual elements there...

it has to be ten years after last production. IE when the last game and system were made. that would be 2012.. however,, with the emulater running the game boy games being one for game boy color. We might as well add them a little early. After all, the program is already up, all you need are the games,.
10 years out of production. GBC 2012.
I think that is a reasonable definition for "retro". If Wii games were technically possible to put online it would still be wrong to do so IMO. You have to draw a line somewhere. MAME drew the line at 10 years out of production. It sounded good to me so I choose the same line.

It's a 16-bit version of the first Zelda, just remixed like the first one's "second quest".
This was part of Japan's satelite add-on for the SNES. Each week a small portion would come available to download. The idea failed so miserably that they never even finished releasing the entire game. You can't get past level 6 because they never got to releasing the power bracelet. Also, level 9 doesn't exist at all.
One more major thing of note. Nintendo tried changing the hero in this version. I believe it's the only Zelda not to feature Link. You instead were able to select between the satelite system's boy or girl mascots.

The N64 version stunk.
I loved it. It had a fairly steep learning curve, but once that was out of the way, it had one of the best combo systems I Have seen. I still think it smokes most of the later weapon based fighting games like Soul Caliber. Of course, it scores extra points with me as well since it had realistic damage and fatalities instead of fighting to the K.O. like most do now.

Not sure if anyone has asked for these 2 games yet.I think they came out on either Genesis or 32 x.
Lunar Silver Star Story Complete
Lunar Eternal Blue.
I believe these 2 games were originally made for the Genesis and or the 32 x.They were made by Working Designs.I think they were 2 of the best games ever made for the Genesis, and or 32 x.And truly rival the final fantasy games.
The 2 games were then later remade as limited collectors special edition games on CD for the playstation.
Lunar was for Sega CD, not Genesis or 32X.

Just curious as I love this game series and would love to set high scores and stuff. If not, is there a reason?http://retrouprising.com/99145/post1117/
Basically read that post and click the link, can't request coin op anymore.

Ultraman? He is a very popular character in Japanese films and television. He has had multiple shows, cartoon, and games in Japan. The show features a guy who can transform into a giant sized Ultraman when needed. The fights would often be like things from Godzilla (Gojira) movie.
Power Rangers is essentially a kid version of Ultraman.

It wasn't. Some banter is ok but if we go off on tangents it will bog the topic down and real requests will get lost in the mix. Also this topic seems to attract a lot of new people and we don't want them to get discouraged if their request isn't acknowledged.
Notice I said "let's not do that here"? I know you're thinking I'm being hypocritical about this but there's plenty of other topics to discuss off topic things.

If N64 games were to be added, we would have to wait until 2012.
If you want a N64 emulator ASAP, then I recommend downloading Project 64, its probably the easiest to use emulator out there. But you will need a controller like an xbox controller.

Final Fantasy VI Advance was the last GBA game published by Nintendo, it was in a very limited quantity, my local Gamestop only got 3 copies, all were reserved, luckily Wal-Mart right next door had 5 =P.
FFVIA is a mixed bag.....the script is undoubtedly better, but the game has quite a few fatal bugs in it.
FFV is definitely better on GBA, we never got a US SNES version, and the official GBA version has a better script than either the PS1 version or the fan hack.
FFVI is better on SNES, the GBA can't handle the original music so it is degraded somewhat, the game is still enjoyable and FFVI at its core though.
But none of this matters because FFVI came out in 2007 for GBA, so the earliest you'd get on RU is 2017. You can go find your emulator now XD.
