We've all had those discussions and arguments about video games;
"Mario could kick Fox's butt!"

"Who would win in a fight; Samus or Donkey Kong?"
Well pop in Super Smash Bros and find out!
First off I remember seeing the commercial for the game, it had Pikachu and Yoshi and Mario and Donkey Kong holding hands and skipping to that song "So Happy Together" then I believe Yoshi tripped Pikachu and then the fists were flying and I laughed and for the first time I saw Super Smash Bros. I had to have so my mom bought it and I played it and instantly fell in
Why did I fall in love with this game you ask well I'll tell you;
First off once you begin to choose your character you have the choice of:
Mario, Samus, Pikachu, Link, Fox, Kirby, Yoshi and Donkey Kong
-and you can unlock-
Jigglypuff, Luigi, Ness and Captain Falcon
Sure the selection of characters was limited to 12 but it was the N64 and there was too much action going on. It was cool to play as my favorite Nintendo characters from yesteryear and now.
Next was the weapons, you get an array of weapons and power ups:
Baseball Bat
Pokeball (Which if you throw it a Pokemon comes out and attacks your enemy)
Bob-Omb
Beam Sword
Hammer
Fan
Ray Gun
Star Rod
Fire Flower
Green & Red Koopa Shells
Bumper
Motion Sensor Bomb
Capsule
Egg
Crate
Barrel (Which all contain items)
Tomato (Health recovery)
Star
Heart Container (Health recovery)
All those weapons each to be used to your advantage to inflict PAIN on your opponent bu be warned they can use them on you as well.
Another reason is the music, each stage has a remix of that characters respected song for instance if you fight on the Mushroom Kingdom stage it remixes the original Super Mario song etc.
But the one that's the icing on the
the reason I loved this game so much is...
THE MULTIPLAYER!!!!
Yes this game is perfect when you're playing with your friends, now the game is cool in single player mode but multiplayer much like Goldeneye64 Is what makes this game great and well since this game came out in 1999, online play was kind of unheard of at the time. When we heard online play we instantly thought flash games on the computer!
The only things I hate in this game are:
Metal Mario
Fighting Polygon Team
and the Master Hand
Why a hand as the boss I'll never know but he was a pain in the neck to beat, but then again I was 9 years old when I played it.
NOW FOR THE SCORES:
Graphics 5/5- What can I say they were standard N64 graphics
Gameplay 5/5- Single player mode is fun but this game is more fun with 3 other friends
Soundtrack 5/5- The music and remixes are flawless
Difficulty 4/5- Once you really get the hang of this game it can be pretty simple but still challenging.
Overall 5/5- Super Smash Bros is one of the best party games out there next to Guitar Hero, Goldeneye and Mario Party they're just more fun when you have your friends over but still fun in single player.
