Top 15 Games In Dire Need of a Sequel

How many times have you wished for a certain game to get a sequel? How many times have you cursed the overrated mainstream title receiving its 15th sequel while truly unique and good games are lost in the sea of mediocrity? Don't worry, you're not alone. For whatever reasons, the games you'll see in this article have been missing off the radar for a lifetime now, while we sit around and wait for them to take us into the promised gaming land. My gut feeling tells me that we'll see at least some of these in a few short days at E3, but until then we can just close our eyes and imagine we're in a world where these games exist - a better world.

There have been over 30 games considered with honorable mentions going to Chrono Cross, Majora's Mask, Mystical Ninja, Contra and many others. The games that did make the list simply stood out from the rest, either on the basis that they left us with a juicy, sequel-demanding cliffhanger, or because their sequels might shake up the gaming world unlike anything we've seen before.

Re: Top 15 Games In Dire Need of a Sequel

Hmmm.
Eternal Darkness #6
Perfect Dark #5
Duke Nukem #4

All on a list of top games to be remade; funny how it is when I mention Perfect Dark {#5}, and almost always when I mention Duke Nukem {#4}:

'... Goldeneye was better than Perfect Dark ... Duke Nukem is all about the game's premise, and without his personality it's a pretty unremarkable game ...

These are not direct quotes but I couldn't help but remember things of this nature being said by certain members.

I guess this goes to show that the hype surrounding certain games doesn't mean that the games themselves are better than other ones on the same console.
It's all a matter of personal taste in the end, but sometimes it doesn't pay to be slavish to the hype because you may choose a lesser game just because everyone else bought it and thought it was good??

Eternal Darkness
is one of the best games on the Gamecube, and look what the article said about its sales -- not too good.

My point is that just because a game is a 'best seller' doesn't mean that it's a good game, and sometimes games that fall through marketing cracks and have poorly timed launch dates can be awesome, but sadly mostly unknown.
