MK Trilogy is the best in the series. It had the best selection of characters, uses the superior UMK3 combo system, has a ton of levels, and a myriad of finishing moves. It's the best!

Why is MK1 left off the list? Couldn't we do without trilogy and gold?

I thought about putting the original on, and i should have instead of Gold.

It's all good I'm just wondering. I didn't vote because I liked all of them pretty much equally. I was never a huge fan so I can't put my finger on which one really did it for me.

Unfortuanetly, I havent played many of them, and I probably wont because it wont be the same on the computer, but out of the ones i've played i'd have to say the most fun was MK: DA

I think that the best one is the 2D one without jerky animation and poor character balancing... Oh yeah, that one doesn't exist.

They really aren't bad games, and if I had to pick one, it would certainly be the original.

MK Trilogy is still the best in my view as things were more balanced. For one the Run button almost completely eliminated cheese ball low skill players who would just rely on spamming with Sub-Zero/Scorpion.

The thing is, with Cage, he was one of the fastest characters, had great anti-air attacks, great projectiles, and could really score well with big corner trap combos and general combos.

Unfortunately, when MK went 3D most of the characters became weaker and were not as recognizable as they were in previous games.
