A long time ago, there was a heartwarming Nintendo game full of potential, despite the limitations of the 8-bit system. We're speaking, of course, about Wall Street Kid." Wall Street's still cool these days, right?
No? Good, because the Wayford/Majesco reinterpretation of "A Boy and His Blob" is a much better example of what we're talking about. Boy feeds Blob jellybeans, Blob turns into useful shapes according to what flavors he eats. The new version is gorgeous, accessible, and heartwarming -- in all ways an expansion of the already-fun original's potential.
The only catch is it has made us hungry for kick-ass recreations of NES titles that were greater than the 8 bits that went into them.

"Super Dodgeball"
If ever a game were meant for Wii, it's the hilarious sport of chucking a ball two dozen different ways at someone's head. Imagine how great it would be to lob custom missiles at your family based on your actual windup and pitch instead of pressing button combos. Bonus points to whoever invents a Nerf peripheral for actual clobbery.
"Battletoads"
A terrific sense of humor, a broad variety of attacks and the ability for players and enemies to attack their own side make this one of the most beloved NES games out there. America needs a "Battletoads" game in a 3-D environment. Do it for the troops.
"Paperboy"
Before there was "Grand Theft Auto," there was "Paperboy," a thin excuse to wreak as much havoc as possible in your neighborhood. The question is, now that there is GTA, why can't we use its engine to dodge lawn mowers, beehives and the occasional Grim Reaper? Come on, Atari, why don't you collaborate with Rockstar on something beautiful?
"Skate or Die 2"
Despite its clumsy handling and messy graphics, "Skate or Die 2 "was raw fun. The Tony Hawk series also left the ramp to thrash urban terrain, so take the skateboard peripheral from "Tony Hawk's Ride," ditch the glitch, and graft sleek gameplay onto a punk skateboarding adventure. "Skate or Die 2" was much more engaging than its predecessor, so use its story and bizarre sense of fun to create some delirious anarchy.
"River City Ransom"
There are a lot of games about two geeky gym rats beating their way through the streets to rescue someone's girlfriend, the President or the President's girlfriend. Usually they just murder everyone in town until they stumble across the right person. But the only one to make it even more fun than Double Dragon was this unrepentant thuggery.
"Kid Icarus"
This game was always meant for a 3-D world. Taking aim in flight is an activity just crying out for a dual-analog controller. Lovable lead character Pit has already been recreated for "Super Smash Bros." so throw in some trick arrows, and you have yourself a game.
1- Super Dodge Ball- Yes please. I loved this game so much.
2- Battletoads- Meh.
3- Paperboy- Could be cool but I doubt they could do it justice.
4- Skate or Die2- Lame. There's tons of skateboarding games already and some like Skate are awesome. I doubt they'd be able to do much without copying the current batch.
5- RCR- Would be cool if they keep it 2-D and very similar to the original. I doubt it would happen.
6- Kid Icarus- Meh again. I suppose people would like it but it doesn't interest me.

Crappiest ever? Either you're trolling or you really do have terrible taste in games.

I'm not sure what you mean, both were on NES first. RCR is already on the VC. Both could be epic if remade.
Either way a remake on GBA isn't really a step forward. I think if they remade Dodge Ball and kept the river city ransom sprites it would rule. Most likely they'd piss me off and go with all the mario characters or something else cutesy and family friendly. No more hilarious stereotypes.
Battletoads and River City Ransom would be cool. RC Pro Am or Micro Machines would be cool as long as they stuck to the originals - 2D overhead.
I think all my favorite games should be remade.
Shining Force
Countdown to Doomsday
Immortal
Out of This World
Dragon Crystal / Fatal Labyrinth / Talloon's
Dune II
Flashback
Marble Madness
Moai Kun
Ninja Kun
Rampart
Bonk
Laser Disk games like Space Ace
How 'bout The Guardian Legend? Sigma Star Saga (GBA) tried the same thing (combining shmup stages and Zelda-type exploration) and failed hard, but I haven't given up hope that someone will be able to do it right again.
@db the gba remake of rcr was the same with the exception of 4 player co-op. even if you play single player, you can have a.i. control teammates...make the grand slam upgrade a bit of fun.

Crappiest ever might have been a little strong, still a horrible game. The controls were bad, the gameplay is sluggish, collision detection is poor, obstacles are ridiculous and overly annoying. Graphics were average at best, same for sound. Concept had potential but just executed wrong.
Ive only ever played the nes and c64 versions of the game so some other version might have been better.
Anyway the game just wasnt fun.
I don't agree with that list hardly at all. Especially Battletoads and River City Ransom. They remade Turtles in Time and it's not any better, it just looks better and costs too much.
Bionic Commando: Rearmed is pretty sweet. That was a good one to remake.

Why? Metal Gear has turned into one of the most over hyped games in recent history. It's been remade several times on several systems if I remember right.

Do you mean remake the first one? If so, why?
Well SJB likes overhyped stuff, like Captain Falcon.
