My gf and I have seen this several times on TV and we both laughed at the lady with the messed up neck. We aren't mean people, it just seems kind of ridiculous. I'm not sure if it's the poor quality or the odd timing of the "patient photo" but something isn't right. At first I thought it was a fake commercial.
I finally looked it up tonight and it is a serious condition but it's somewhat rare. That just brings up more questions, why a commercial? Why all the sudden when this was made in like 2003? Why did they use a picture that looks like someone just tilting their head? The mind boggles!
Btw I'm not insensitive, other people have noticed this as well. I got this from a random website when I did a search.
Do you remember the other topic I made like this? I still see commercials for that same penis pump on basic cable, all the time. Granted I'm up late but it's on a lot more than anyone would expect. It must be a good selling product. Sometimes it's on the same commercial break as Girls gone Wild, it's pretty epic imo.
I could picture it as such: "mommy, what's a..." only to get stopped by their parents as soon as they say the word with a look of horror on their faces.
The commercial is horribly done. Looks like a joke.
Hopefully their plan was to get more attention from people making fun of them.
The first 30 seconds they are going on about nothing using words that no one knows. And then boom. They drop a funny picture that no one should laugh at but everyone will. And then they drop the phone number. 800-HURTFUL. Then your girlfriend says 'laughing is hurtful' and you are reaching for the phone and credit card to buy an apology.
If you are on a low budget to raise money for a rare condition no one has ever heard of then it was probably the most effective route to take. Plus you get free Internet advertisement out of it from people making fun of it and talking about it online.
Is is only me or does the presenter look like an matryoshka doll?
The video in itself made me feel strangely alive thought in I am far from it in reality.
Exactly the point, it is so dull and boring that it was funny. The topic itself shouldn't be funny but how informative the commercial was, made it sort of funny. It's like Sex ed. in school, it isn't funny, but the way the teachers deal with it makes it somewhat funny. That being said, I would never laugh during that part of school.
