Bam Thank You
My girlfriend and I are arguing about the first word in the phrase "_______, bam thank you ma'am."
We agreed to let the popular RU opinion settle the disagreement. So what is the most common full phrase?

Perhaps it's a generation gap thing?

I agree with Tenser and Sabby its Wham. That's the only way I have heard it as well.

Re: Bam Thank You
A quick google search of both shows Wham is the most common. If urban dictionary lists it then it must be true, right?

Re: Bam Thank You
It probably came from an 80s movie. Most lame sayings have their start in there.

In this case you are right about the 80's, but not the movie part.
Actually it was Kermit The Frog
who said it first about that one girl he adores so much,
and the actual quote was
'HAM, bam, thank you Ma'am.'

Not to poke holes in your theory but I thought Kermit didn't like Piggy that much and she was obsessed with him?

That is the only way I've ever heard that phrase. And as to what the origin, I'm not sure if this is the first apperance of the phrase but, I first heard it sung by David Bowie in his song "Suffragette City." The year was 1976 when the single was released.
