Famicom Detective Club Part II (Super Nintendo)

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd let you all know about a game I found on this wonderful website called Famicom Detective Club Part II (on SNES).

I'd never heard of it before but I like discovering new games and this one I really enjoyed.

As the name suggests, it's a detective story. The gameplay involves point / click and asking questions to other characters and investigating surroundings.

The story begins by explaining who your character is. You are a young boy in Japan who becomes involved with a chap called Utsugi, a private detective. As you grow up, you become involved in the work of his detective agency.

Once the back story is sorted, the body of a young girl named Yoko is found by the river and you begin to investigate the murder. As the game progresses you learn about a mysterious ghost story at the local school, the ghost being known as The Girl in Back.

I can't tell you too much more without entering spoiler territory but as the story unfolds (thanks to your excellent detective work) you uncover lots of secrets, meet many interesting characters and discover that all is never what it seems...

The story is long, with plenty of twists and turns along the way. Not perhaps a game for those who like all action, all of the time, but one you can take your time over, enjoying the adventure and thinking things through both logically and creatively.

The save state feature of RU is very handy for this game, meaning you can save your progress and not try and play the whole game in one sitting - this would take days.

If you like a game that tells a great story and challenges you mentally, give it a shot. It's good fun and very well written.

It's pretty good. It's a little hard to get into though.
