I'm sure you could buy a Retro Mini cheaper, but you have to buy the cartridges for games as well.

It’s got 4gb built in memory, with a sd card slot in the inside so you could expand the memory if needed, and not only does it play nes games, but it also plays gameboy and gameboy color roms as well. 2.8” TFT LCD, built-in rechargeable lithium battery, Video player, MP3 player, FM radio, Picture viewer, Audio recorder, it’s got a camera and video camera (but I disabled them to fit in the case), built in speaker, and the best part… TV-OUT !!! so you can play on the big screen! The unit has 2 additional buttons on the front, ones power, and the other is used to navigate the main menu, basically it’s a ‘back’ button. And there is a small hole drilled in the back with a reset button behind it. The unit has 3 plug ins on the right side, AC power (to charge the battery) Mini USB (to put files on the thing) and the TV-OUT plug. I also spent some time and redid the images used for the main menu and the game selection screen.

That's from using a PAL rom on an NTSC emulator.

After I'm finished working on the E.T. shrine I plan on purchasing and reading a guide on how to do console mods.

I'm quite good with a soldering iron, circuitry, and wiring so it shouldn't be too much of a challenge. I already have an idea on what my first project will be, a handheld Intellivision. I'll blog with pics as I go.

Intellivision lives! is comming out for the ds sometime in 2010, its a compilation of 40 intellevision games.

This version will include over 40 Intellivision games, features single-card multiplayer, and also emulates the Intellivision's 12-button keypad: each game features a custom touch-screen layout mimicking that of the button overlay supplied with the original Intellivision cartridge.
Intellivision Productions has yet to find a publisher for the DS version.[1] There was a proposal on having license holder Keith Robinson submit the compilation for DSiWare for Nintendo's approval, but the company quickly rejected it, due to the fact that Nintendo does not allow WiiWare and DSiWare games that run under emulation. It is rumored to be released in Spring 2010.

I have that on my PS2, I played it for a while but all the games started to wear themselves a little thin. I was going to sell it to gamestop, but they said they would only give me a quarter for it(no exageration), so I kept it.
