Cheap Halloween Costumes?

I am poor. I love Halloween. I really want to be MF Doom this year, but the only mask I can find is way too expensive. Does anybody know a cheap place to get costumes, or could help me out? My costume is a little obscure I will admit, but that's what makes it awesome. Plus the mask is pretty much a gladiator mask, so I wouldn't think it would be that hard to find.

If you don't know who MF Doom is:

I found a mask on amazon. It looks shoddy and it is 40 dollars. It is the only one I have seen.

Best way to do it is to make it yourself. I would get a Jason mask some plastic cuters, some cardboard, hot glue and some silver and black and brown paint.

Cut the mask to look like the basic outline of the MF mask. Use the cardboard and cut it shape for the nose and eyes/ eyebrows. Attach the cardboard with the hot glue. After it looks decent paint it all silver. Use the brown to go around the edges lightly then use the black to go back over the parts that need to be black or darker.

Why not get a Dr Doom mask and cut out the parts you don't need? It's easy to get and probably pretty cheap in case you mess up.

I think a bert and ernie costume would be fairly easy and cheap. Cary around a bert doll and dress like this

And I thought about just dressing in something crazy and saying I am your imagination.

Anyone else have some ideas?

Dr. Doom masks don't really look the same. They lack the part that goes down below the chin.

Yeah I know but that's why I said to cut and make it look better. A Dr Doom mask would at least give you a start, better than starting from scratch.

Many Halloween costumes don't run cheap nowadays...so the only way to get a good looking one is to take forever to make it yourself or just pay a crapload of money for the real thing.
