Im always looking for new anime shows and series to check out that are good.

This thread is geared toward showing different anime series (old and new) and posting recomendations.

Feel free to add your own submissions and videos are always welcome

Im asking for all Otaku for your assistance

I wasn't a big fan of Needless. I got half-way through the first episode and just gave up on it. Since I could go on all day, instead I'll just name off the currently airing series that I think are the cream of the crop.

deathnote...but you can do yourself the favor and stop watching once "near" shows up...don't worry, you will know when it happens.

Yeah...when Near comes in the show turns odd but the finish is ok. I liked watching the L movie though. I wont spoil it for anyone but its worth checking out.

Michiko to Hatchin is the series im watching right now. Its a pretty cool show so far.

Oh and I love Disgea. I own the first 2 games and I still need to get the 3rd. The anime was ok IMO but Ive only seen 2 episodes.

That's how I feel about professional sports:
baseball, hockey, football (not soccer).
At least when I watch anime I can learn some more Japanese.

When it comes to Cowboy Bebop, it is one of a kind.
I have the whole series.
Anyone who hasn't seen it, GOYB and go watch it - you will not be disappointed.
Even the musical score by Yoko Kanno (Evangelion) is awesome.

It's because it doesn't appeal to you at all. I understand because I only really like a couple anime movies, other than that they all seem kinda stupid to me(some aren't bad but just not my thing). Everyone has their little obsessions. It's not compulsive for most people but it makes you feel good and you can't get enough. Mine is sci fi, I'd say that's about equal with anime on the

Meh if you cross anime with sci fi I lose interest. I just perfer live action over animation. Besides obvious stuff like Family Guy, King of the Hill and ones from when I was a kid.

I enjoy anime, so does the wife. It's nice to be able to download some and watch it together. I also moderate for an anime streaming site that a friend runs. Its my job to create homepage content.

I think I said this before, but if you go sign up at
veoh.com
you can download TONS of anime free.
THEN you head over to
majorgeeks.com
and download
Media Player Classic Homecinema
(in the multimedia section), also free,
which is a video player which will allow you to watch the videos you downloaded at veoh without having to use their (or any) online webplayer and all you have to do is :
make a (desktop) shortcut to the folder where veoh stores the videos on your hard drive, and direct your computer to use the Media Player Classic Homecinema instead of the Windows Media Player (which will not play most of them).

OTAKU, you will LOVE THIS!!!!!

I have hundreds of titles I got this way,
and with the shortcut to the veoh folder it makes it easy to find and burn those shows to disk.....

Im all about the free anime but Its one of the few things I LIKE to spend money on.

Its only like 5.00 a month and they normaly get a good selection of shows and always post the new seasons shows in Japan. I see alot of new series this way. I remember when Bleach came out (before the NETWORK found it) and I loved the show. Same with Deathnote and the Ghost in the Shell series. Im also not a very big fan of dubed anime so I generally seek out subtitles first.

My wife is also an anime and J Drama fan so we watch a lot of shows together. We also took a college course in Japanese together and plan on heading there someday.

Oh and for a Smittycal recommendation I would suggest

Veoh's video quality is worthless. Even if you wanted to go this route www.megavideo.com has thrice the amount of anime and doesn't randomly delete theirs.

I like to use www.animetake.com . They work alongside the fansubbers and post up new anime to d/l near instantly, and they're free.

Good recomendations. I've used megavideo before and a few torrent sites like Tv Nihon but Ive never heard of animetake. I might try it out in the next day or so.
