Greatest Toys of the 80's...
Since we are on the eve of the release of G.I. Joe's first live action film, I thought it would be a good time to discuss the best toys of the 80's.
I'm not including toys that were based on existing properties that existed before the
80's (i.e. Star Trek, Star Wars, Barbie, Batman, TMNT, Ghostbusters, etc.), but instead this is for toys that were either exclusively toy franchises or were based om cartoons that pretty much existed to sell toys.
What do you think? What was the juggernaut of the 80's?

Re: Greatest Toys of the 80's...
I was really big into G.I. Joe, and later M.A.S.K. I also liked a lot of the ones that couldn't fit on the list (Star Wars, Batman, TMNT). I think G.I. Joe and Transformers probably sold the best, but I liked some of the lesser known ones too.

Did they ever make toy of Sezthemank? If so, it may be possible to add that as a poll option.
I liked TMNT as well, but because you can only put 10 options in a poll, I limited it to toys that were for the most part quintessentially 80's toys.

I had a bunch of Star Wars figures too. I liked the one with the light saber built into the hand.
Maybe we can do another poll for the 90's soon. Then one for the
00's when we get to 2010.

GI Joe for sure. My friends and I had tons of them and we played with them daily. Also Transformers but to a lesser extent.

Re: Greatest Toys of the 80's...
There weren't enough choices in the poll. I also wanted to add Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Bright, Go Bots,Teddy Ruxpin, and Voltron. I wish polls could have 20 choices.

I always wanted to watch the cartoon when I was young, but it never seemed to be playing anywhere I lived. I knew a friends who had He-Man, Skeletor, and some others as well as some kind of castle, but I never had any He-Man toys sadly.
GI Joe was my main thing too. I used to have a bunch, but then I sold almost all of them in a garage sale. Now I kind of wish I hadn't. It would be fun to see them again.

Re: Greatest Toys of the 80's...
I used to watch He-man as a kid and I loved it. I also had some of the toys, I loved the skunk guy and the lizard who shot water(we also had castle grayskull!). My dad liked the "two bad" character, he would hold it up and say TOO BAD when we wanted something. Yeah we didn't think it was funny.

I always liked MASK, but I think they ran out of ideas as the toy series went on. I remember buying a billboard that turned into a gunner station. How great is that?!
I thought it was cool at the time, though.

I know there are a few glaring ommissions, but there were only 10 choices, so I tried to pick the ones that were the overall best sellers.

Re: Greatest Toys of the 80's...
My vote was for he-man but I had the 'joe's, starwars and others. As for the skunk figure there was one more that was kinda green and furry and I forget the name. Both you could leave in the sun and they would smell more. Only a toy in the 80's would smell that bad.
Names were Stinkor and Beast-man.

And I'm confused, why would they make toys about Mask?
