....I got pwn3d
So, yesterday, I bought a psp, and I saw it had firmware 2.71, I was excited that it had 2.71, so I can downgrade it etc. to play nes, snes, mame, ps1, etc., but then, I popped in Tekken dark resurrection, and guess what....it doesn't work :mad: my psp couldnt read this disc or any other disc. It worked at the *** *****'s psp at gamecrazy, but, I had to return everything to them, and, so, my dad returned it, and gamecrazy didn't want us to return it, damn there desperate for money. My dad said it took 30minutes to make them return it, and the people at this gamecrazy are big *******. Now, since I gave my cash to my dad, so he could pay the rest of the money for the psp, game **** crazy said "You'll have to wait 2 days to get your refund on the credit card". Now, this is the last day of christmas break, and I get my psp tommorow after I suffer school.....AAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!:mad: :mad: :mad: !!!!!!!! I'm getting all E's in my classes, so, seriously whats the point of going, I got all e's last year to.
Son of a *****, I have 3 detentions in 2 weeks, so, I have 7 hour detention. Hahahahaha screw that ill rather be suspended.
Damn gamecrazy, if they didn't give me a defective psp, I wouldnt have to go to school tommorow so I could fake sick COUGH HACK RAAAAGH

Unlike the normal grading system of letters, there's does not skip directly from D to F. That would be my assumption at least.

Public education is for the most part, regulated by the state. New York, for example has a Regents program that runs in between School Credit and Honors.

Well, in Australia where they have recently changed the grading system to make it 'easier to understand', an E is an Excellent, otherwise known as what used to be an A. Oustanding is an A+ Very Good is a B+, Good is a B, Satisfactory is a C+-C Low Achievement is D+-D and Minimal Achievement is a E+-E. And if you fail, it's an ungraded. You're so horrible they don't even give you a grade!
At least, I think it is. I don't think that the new grading system is easier to understand that the other one was.

Way back in the day an E was like an A. E meaning excellent. I haven't seen an E used like that since my mom's 8th grade report card.:gasp:

That sounds very complicated.
In kindergarten we had grades similar to what Tenser said. So an E was good but it meant you were 5 years old.

It is very complicated. People feel like they're trying to soften the blow of a bad grade...*sigh* A D's a D, even if you call it a 'Low Achievement.'

In grade school, our grading system was:
O - Outstanding
S - Satisfactory
N - Needs Improvement
U - Unsatisfactory
Then in junior high and high school it was the usual A, B, C, D, and F system (with + and -). The only "E" I have seen on a report card was on my daughter's kindergarten one because she could identify the letter and write it out. On her report card, it didn't even give grades. The education system is getting soft.

We had A, B, C and F. No D or E.
Continuing with the school grade theme - The no child left behind thing is just stupid. The result is all kids go at the pace of the stupid kid. It is like a bunch of gazelles being chased by a lion and the fast gazelles don't want to make fun of the slow gazelles so they all decide to walk. End result lions get fat and lazy chasing stupid slow gazelles.
Also I am strongly against a public school system that gives money to schools based on the district's average tax bracket. Rich kids get rich schooling. Poor kids get poor schooling. Result - class wars, segregation and few options for low income children. America I'm talking to you.

The only "E"s I've ever seen in my personal experience - outside of kindergarten - have been on tests/papers of other people in my classes...but never on report cards. The "E"s were given as failing grades on individual assignments by teachers who thought the word "failure" was too harsh. Although to stardardize grades across the board "F" was still used. I never really understood why "F" is used. I mean why do they feel the need to skip "E"? None of the other letters mean anything.

I totally agree Kong. I live here (U.S.) and feel my daughter is not getting the education she deserves. It penalizes the parents who get their children ready for school. My wife and I spent the time with our daughter to make sure she was ready. Now she runs the risk of being bored in school and not taking it as seriously as she needs to because the things that the school are teaching, she already knows.

When I was in private school, an "E" was the perfect grade. An "A" was something like 94 to 99 percent with the "E" being reserved for a full 100 percent score. I had my fair share of "E"'s when I was in elementary and middle school.
Once I left private school and moved down south, the "E" went away completely. In addition, the scoring brackets were adjusted as well. An "A" went from being 94-100 to being 91-100 with all the rest being issued by 10's thereafter. In essence, they made it easier to get an "A". I couldn't imagine going to school these days though. It's kinda scary...and pathetic.

I had a nice surprise waiting for me in college.
From 1st to 12th grade this was my grades breakdown:
A: 93-100
B: 85-92
C: 77-84
D: 70-76
F: Below 70
with the extremes in each range being a + or -.
In college, I was introduced to a new grading scheme:
A: 90-100
B: 80-89
C: 70-79
D: 60-69
F: below 60
this and various grading curves made college a lot easier for me than I expcted...never had a grading scheme with an official "E" grade.

@ Kong: No child left behind is pathetic. It was only partially funded from the get go and do you know where Bush got the funding for his program? He took it out of the public education budget. This is why my wife and I have been nearly forced to sen my kid to a private preschool and we're currently looking for a charter school when he hits Kindergarten.
A+ 97-100
A 93-96
A- 90-92
B+ 87-89
B 84-86
B- 81-83
C+ 79-80
C 75-77
C- 72-74
D 69-71
D- 66-68
F 65 & lower
(There was no D+)

I is an actual grade here in broward countey it stands for incompleat and also in here in broward countey order to pass you need for 4 points if your wondering how you get points its very simple
A= 4 points
B= 3 points
C= 2 points
D= 1 point
F and I= 0 points
and the percentages are
A= 90-100%
B= 80-89%
C= 70-79%
D= 60-69%
F= 0-59%
and to get an incompleat dont turn in any work

This year (Year 9) I'm going to a selective school. The only way in is to pass an entrance exam. Hopefully they won't spend half the year teaching us what nouns are!
