How hard would it be to get a chatroom on this site? is that something that is doable? i mean i think talking to members in real time would be great.

There was a discussion about it. In the end there's no way to ensure the chat would be moderated at all times.

There is actully a chat thingy you can create that I used to have on my myspace about a year ago, Its free, you just copy and paste the code and then WALLA! you have a chat room!

Chatango - Add Free Live Chat to any Webpage
It can be added to every page and they all would share a single room. No downloads or registration required. Lots of filters. And can be hidden if people find it a distraction.
