Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
I don't know about the 3D0, but for the Neo Geo I recommend:
Blue's Journey
Windjammers
Crossed Swords
Any Metal Slug games
Neo Turf Masters
Any Samurai Shodown game

3DO - Star Control(awesome game, one of my all time favorites) and The Horde(Kirk Cameron did the voice before he became known for being a crazy creationist talking head).

- Aero Fighters 2 & 3
- Alpha Mission 2
- Super Baseball 2020
- Crossed Swords
- Ghost Pilots
- Nam 1975
- Sengoku
- Fatal Fury series (and King of Fighters series)

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
I love Aerofighters assault on the N64 but are those aerofighters games the same?
I have also played metal slug and it's good, Thanks I'll ad those all to my list, Or I'll look into them on Gamespot first, Thanks you guys.
More 3DO suggestions would be good.
Edit: not too big into fighting games like the 1 on 1 beat em up games aren't really a big deal to me.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
Yes, those are the same Aero Fighters. They were games originally produced by SNK.
I will send you the 3DO list in a bit. Sorry I forgot.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
The neo geo controllers have a joystick correct?
It's hard to tell if that's a ontrol stick or a control pad.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
You have two options. 1) The Neo Geo Joystick. It is big and durable, but I personally am not fond of using big joysticks. I'm more of a controller person. If you do like them, though they are just like being in the arcade. 2) The Neo Geo Control Pad. This is one of my all time favorite controllers. There is a almost flat thumbstick/pad and I have found it to control very smoothly.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
In that case I might buy both, I already bought my SNES arcade controller a month or two ago for my arcade games like Earth Defence force and such but I'll probably just use the controller for now.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
3DO controllers are pretty ingenious for the time. Not only do they have their own seperate volume control right on the controller, player 2's controller actually plugs into player 1's controller. It allows you to be less tied down to the console.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
I would agree with the ones Tenser said and also add:
- B.C. Racers (kind of like Mario Kart, but with characters from Chuck Rock.)
- Gex
- Jurrassic Park
- Mad Dog McCree 1 & 2 (fun Light Gun style games if you like those)
- Myst
- Need fo Speed
- Off-World Interceptor
- Shock Wave
- Super Wing Commander
- Total Eclipse

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
Neo Geo is to fighters and 3DO is to Interactive Movies (Laser Disk style) and Point and Click as SNES is to RPGs.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
That's a fair assessment, but I think each system has several stand out games in other categories too. Like I think Neo Geo still has some of the best shooters I have ever played in addition to being the best system for fighting games.

Very true. I agree. I still don't understand why they didn't make an entire franchise off of D.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
Do any of the 3DO survival horrors not fall under the categories of Interactive Movie or Point and Click.
SNES has non-RPG games too. Just saying that they shine in particular areas.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
Not that I'm aware of, but I haven't played every one on 3DO yet.
I agree with you though Kong, that each one is definitely strong in certain areas. I was just more trying to say that each of the systems has other things to offer too. I especially hear the fighting game thing on the Neo Geo, and while it's true that fighting games outnumbered everything else released, IMHO the Neo still has some excellent games in other categories too. Things like Magician Lord, Top Hunter, Bust-A-Move, Spin Masters, and Samurai Showdown RPG are still some of my favorite games in any category.
I think both systems are worth picking up for people who are into classic quality games.

Re: 3DO & Neo Geo CD suggestions
I did. At Tenser's recommendation I got the FZ-10 model and I like it. It's smaller than the original unit which is big and heavy. I still don't have very many games yet (I am still looking for a good place to get the games), but I have played most of the 3DO games in the past, so I know what I like on the system.

Why don't you just burn the games then?
