Re: The Orb of Knowledge
So we're doing this in private? I was kinda on the fence when I saw it was in a public forum, this would be better I think.
Btw there's no new info in your post right? I just need my secret info again since that PM got deleted.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
Step 4. Listen to the second MP3.
[ame]http://retrouprising.com/sttng/2/How%20To%20Host%20A%20Mystery%20-%20Star%20Trek%20-%20The%20Next%20Generation%20(2)fA5h.mp3[/ame]
Summery of the second MP3.
Here is the Report of Investigation of the Science lab.
Step 5. I sent each of you a PM with your secret character info. Read it now. There is a public and a private section of your character info.
You can no longer trade characters now.
Step 6. Use the public section of your character info to introduce yourself.
I will start.
I am Guninan, a female bartender in the Ten-Forward Lounge on the Enterprise. I have the ability to make others feel comfortable and express themselves honestly in my presence. I am over 500 years old and still look as young and hot as Whoppie Goldberg. I am wise and serene. My observations are often punctuated with insight and humor. I normally would not go on an away mission but my culture has legends of the Orb of Knowledge and Will asked me to join the mission to help authenticate the discovery and bring space booze.
OK. No each of you do the same and then we will move on to step 7 where the game really starts. Please do this step right away so we don't have to wait for days before we play. It is simple, just type out what it says in the PDF I PM'd you but don't include the secret stuff.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
(a star trek... badge... i believe that will be a new record of nerdom for me)
I am beautiful, gracious and intelligent, my duties as Ship Counselor require me to be alert to the temperments and emotional states of visitors and crew. Half Betazoid, hybrids like myself, are seldom completely telepathic but can usually read the feelings of those around me. Im deeply respected for my serenity and peaceful wisdom, i have helped many crew members through difficult situations.
Im an expert in psycological engeneering, my insight is frequently sought by captain picardard when clashes arise. The myriad of different cultures aboard the Starship keeps my job challenging. Before beiassigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise, i was once romatically involved in a passionate, lustful, and erotic love affair with Will Riker. Our working relationship is proper and proffessional and we remain friendly.

I am Ro. I am of Bajoran heritage. My persecuted and hardened race has survived many territorial battles by believing that action and tenacity would carry the day. But I have proven myself to be a valued member of the U.S.S. Enterprise crew.

As First Officer of the Enterprise, I'm considerd one of the Starfleet's rising stars. A human, born and raised in Alaska. My principal duties include maintaining the vessel and crew and commanding away teams. Studly as I am, I've hooked up with many a chick aboard the ship.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
My name is Data, I am an android. All tests show that I am sentient in my own right but that is not an easy thing for some people to accept. I have the appearance of a human male in his thirties besides my gold toned skin, yellow eyes and slightly stiff movements. You could say I am an imperfect imitation of humanity. I suppose one would not say that though as it could be considered offensive.
Background stuff I couldn't fit into my intro-
Sorry I didn't like how it was sounding when I tried to add it and I figure people should know more about him.
(do we wanna let anyone else in, you know, the whole red shirt thing?)

I am Beverly Crusher and I am the USS Enterprises's Chief Medical Officer. Beautiful and youthful, I can solve a problem if I put my mind to it. As a widow, Captain Picard has stood as a father-figure for my son. Born with unmarried parents, I was raised (and born) on Copernicus City on the Moon.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
I am Worf. I am from a race of warriors known as Klingons and an honorable race that is. I am the security chief of the Enterprise and I am a master of combat and weaponry. I could think of no greater glory than to be killed in battle and have songs sung about my exploits.
Many other Klingons (and some humans) have accused me of struggling to find the balance between my human upbringing and my Klingon heritage. To those I would say, "Hegh batlhHa' Ha'DIbaH!" (Klingon for, "die dishororable dogs!")
I would say more, but all this incessant talking is distasteful. I prefer battle.
@ Data and Geordi, I have also worn my special mystery solving costume.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
My name is Geordi La Forge. I am an expert in the field of engineering and have an extensive knowledge of the Enterprise's operations and systems.
Being blind all of my life has not held me back from achieving my goals or performing my duties. With the aid of my VISOR (which allows me to visualize nearly the entire electromagnetic spectrum) and my optimistic attitude I have been able to rise to the position of Chief Engineer of the USS Enterprise.
...And Dudebro. As my esteemed colleague, Holmes would say..."The game is afoot!"

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
There must be a malfunction with your visor Geordi, I see no one else in the room with us.
Who is Dudebro and what does he have to do with our current situation?
I am intrigued though, the name implies a very masculine man indeed. This person could make Commander Riker feel emasculated, perhaps we should keep them separated at least until we have this situation figured out?

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
Excuse me Commander but I think you are making an incorrect assumption.
Why would you assume that Dudebro is an alias? It seems like a strange thing to assume given the unusual names you encounter on a daily basis. Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the culture and traditions of this life form. Our mutual starfleet training tells us that we should be accepting of things that we would consider strange or unusual.
Forgive me if that sounded like an admonishment but I believe you made your assumption in haste and I would be failing you as an officer and a friend if I did not correct you.
(@Tenser - wait, was your comment OOC? Meh either way my post stands, )
((Winnebagel your pic made me smile from ear to ear, I was gonna try to mock you for it somehow but I just can't be mean to Worf. ))

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
Step 7. I have sent all of you new PMs. Read them. The first half of the PM is secret information about yourself. The second half of the PDF contains facts about others. You have to reveal all of the facts about others during this round in character. Some of you have also received links to clues. If you have a clue you have to post the link during this round.
Rules.
Stay in character.
Do not lie - you have to stick to the info in the PDFs.
Post all "Facts known about others" preferably in the order they are listed in the PDF.
Post all clue links if you have any.
If you are guilty frame someone.
If you are innocent find the guilty person.
That is about all of the rules. You can change the subject and shift blame and be shifty and sneaky etc.
I am not sure if it is best to post all of your facts and clues in your first post or to do them one at a time. We might have to experiment with that.
Start talking and solve the mystery. Good luck.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
Geordi, you must be having trouble whos people's names are. Whats next, are you going to be calling me something absurd like Some Dude X?
Anyway, according to the report, someone with the Romulans has taken the Orb and shot Dr. Eulan and the others. Well, it would have to be someone from a crazy and wild race to do it. Someone like Worf!! Everyone knows that Klingons are a killer race. And we all know that Worf has done some things that Starfleet would consider hostile.

Thank you for appreciating my fashion sense Commander Data. In addition to being fearsome warriors, Klingons are known to posses an excellent aptitude for wearing appropriate regalia.
Now on to the matter at hand.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
@Data: Well you see Data, on the planet Earth "dude" and "bro" are used in masculine slangature. It just appears as too much of a coincidence not to make at least the slight assumption that it would be related.
I think its worthy to note all clues while trying to investigate this situation. Perhaps this Dudebro is someone from the planet Earth who is lacks self-confidence and is attempting to overcompensate for that fact.
(This part from facts list) @All: While we're trying to figure out this little mystery I must admit those drinks our good friend Guinan were mixing last night seemed awefully strong. Cosmic Daze you called them, correct? They had some weird affects on our crew though thankfully I can hold my liquor better than most.
@Guinan: You seemed to be asking quite a few questions afterwards. What was that all about?

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
and geordi, why were you so upset about will ordering ro to assist you in the stasis field. you kept it bottled up well enough, but i sensed it was very stong. I might add that dudebro sounds like a foolish moniker to give oneself, Im quite sure it would take a lesser lifeform than human to insist on being called that.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
@Tenser, I think you meant Guinan. I'm the one that makes drinks not Geordi. I edited your post to correct this. If I am wrong and you had the correct name edit it back.
@Will. Yes they were Cosmic Dazes. Did you like them? It was a new recipe I had never made before. They did seem to have quite a kick! I'll have to work on adjusting the recipe for next time.
@Worf, The Cosmic Daze was on special last night and everybody was trying them. I think one of your security guards might have enjoyed them a bit too much. He was swaying a bit when he mentioned someone had gained access to the micro-optic tracers. He said they are barely visible but with a tricorder they can monitor the movements of a person or an object around the ship. he was terrified of "The Wrath of Worf" becasue his team was responsible allocating it. I normally wouldn't interfere with the bussiness of others but the missing Orb seems too important to be keeping other's secrets.
@Ro, I saw you having a few Cosmic Dazes yourself last night. I also saw you in a deep discussion with Dr Eulan. Then I saw you leave Ten-Forward with him. Do you mind telling us what you were talking about just before his death?

I have nothing to hide Dr. Eulan is a good friend and we were talking about the day that I had. Yesterday Afternoon I was having a long conversation with Rohm in ten forward. when we were rudely interrupted not once but twice. The first time was by Worf the second was by Deanna they pulled Rohm away so I could not here what they were talking about. but I thought I saw Rohm slip Deanna a note. (possibly given to him by worf??). I was talking to the doctor about it..

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
Well while we were talking, I noticed that the note has the Romulan insignia on it. If it was from Worf, then he must have provided the drinks. I also noticed that Dr. Eulan was cautiously look at Worf. Dr. Eulan was also a friend of mine, so I began to suspect that Worf was with the Romulans.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
@Deanna, Ro said Rohm handed you the note. Did you not read it? Where is the note now? Why would Rohm hand you a note with a Romulan insignia on it? If you were friends he must have known you were not friendly with the Romulans.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
Data, I saw you in the Ten-Forward yesterday. It looked like you were trying to be secretive. You spoke to a couple people, one of them being Dr. Eulan. What did you discuss?
That is all of my "Facts". Let us know when you are out of facts so we can move on to the next round with out skipping anything.
BTW this is the first of four rounds of sharing facts and defending yourself. After the fourth round we will accuse someone.

Re: The Orb of Knowledge
That's funny because around 11pm I saw Ro come out of Dr. Eulan's quarters, her uniform crumpled and a mess. At the time I waived it off as nothing more than maybe a lover's triste. But hindsight being 20/20, I know realize it could have also been the signs of a struggle.
(That was my last fact.)
