Dreamcast suggestions
Hi everyone, I finally was able to get my hands on a dreamcast, I'm just curious as to good games, I already have sonic adventure and dynamite cop, And I'm looking to get soul calibur, but does anyone have any suggestions to good games?
P.S. don't suggest any football or soccer games, I'm actually looking for a good hockey game for it, thankyou

As someone that doesn't really like sports games that much, the Dreamcast has the best ones easily. NBA, NFL and MLB 2K and 2K1 are great.
But some great games you need:
Powerstone 1 and 2
Crazy Taxi
Cosmic Smash
Rez
Grandia 2
Skies of Arcadia
Space Channel 5
Unreal Tournament
MDK 2
Jet Grind Radio
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Fur Fighters
That should get you started. Also, you didn't hear it from me, but uh...

Re: Dreamcast suggestions
take a look at the bottom of your dreamcast, look for a number in a circle, near the bottom of the label it will be 0,1,2 you want a 0, or 1
more good games:
mame4all
snes4all
neo4all
virtua tennis
street fighter 3 third strike
capcom vs. snk millenium edition
firepro wrestling d (japanese)
ferrarri 355 challenge
can anyone reccomend a 4 player racing game for dc?

Re: Dreamcast suggestions
It Has a One on the bottom!!! ;D and thanks for your suggestions, we have two controllers, so that should be good, and sonic adventure has to be the best sonic game I've ever played, I'll happily take more suggestions, but I'll probably get as much of the whole dreamcast library as I can.
So do you just use cd discs to burn them?
And don't worry I don't believe it's pirating when you can't find the games anywhere now , and sega won't make any money off it now, but I'm not sure
After all they only had 7 games there.
Yeah I'd like some adventure, platformer game suggestions please.

I am pretty sure it is OK to talk about anything that is legal, i.e. backing up games, but not pirating them. So game suggestions are cool obviously, and I imagine emulator and homebrew talk is alright too, as long as it is all legal talk.
And yes Cameron, to back up a game all you need is a CD-R and an image file. Use IMGBURN or CloneCD at low speeds for best results.

Re: Dreamcast suggestions
Okay kong.
What do you mean image file, I thought you just get a rom and put them on a cd-r?
Not to put anyone down, and I'm probably judging a book by it's cover, but crazi taxi doesn't really apeal to me just by it's name, and soory Jim I don't really like nfl too much, just cfl, and I'm not way into that either, I've heard nhl 2k2 was the last game made for sega.
Just out of curiousity, My memory card is full because sonic takes the average ten blocks, but then there are this chao data always apearing for 128 blocks... what is chao data is it okay to delete withoiut losing my game saves?

Re: Dreamcast suggestions
okay i think, that those choa slots are for sonic adventure, choa are these little creatures that you collect throughout the game, 128 slots seems like an awful lot, and if you just got the game why dont you just clear it all and start from scratch?
as far as burning your backups you need to get a copy of your game in question, the file youll need to get will be a .cdi file for instance "sonicadventure.cdi" (you know how to use google right?) those programs trakmasta mentioned ive never used but i would suggest using a program called "diskjuggler" for the simple fact that .cdi is diskjugglers native format, and then just burn to cdr. you can get formats other than .cdi but its pretty complicated to translate them to .cdi format, i gave up and if i ever aquired a game that wasnt .cdi id just delete it and look elswhere -very frustrating and many coasters

Re: Dreamcast suggestions
I can't do this I have searched billioms of sites on google and can't find any working roms and I guess kong says I"m not allowed to have a site suggested to me, I got diskjugglers, but it doesn't give me any roms and I have no clue how to do any of this

Re: Dreamcast suggestions
You aren't looking for ROMs, you are looking for image flies. A ROM is the name for a back up of a cartridge game i.e. NES, SNES, Genesis whatever. An image is the name of a back up for a disc based game i.e. Playstation, Xbox, Dreamcast.
I will PM you a good site for Dreamcast image files. Also, yeah, use discjuggler. I forgot that was the best one for burning Dreamcast games, because it has been so long. If you come by a file that isn't a .cdi then use IMGBurn.

Re: Dreamcast suggestions
Maybe you're not having much luck because of sega cracking down on copyrights. A rom site I used to go to before I found RU got shutdown because of it.

Re: Dreamcast suggestions
Why not? I'm sure Sega cares about it's major titles. I doubt they want people downloading Sonic instead of buying it from them.
Unless I missed something. I really haven't been checking up on Sega these days. A few years ago Sonic was one of the copyright games that a lot of sites had to take down.

Re: Dreamcast suggestions
Well, some ROMs are harder to find than others, but you can find anything if you know where to look.
