Martial arts movies

I'm a big fan of these movies and I was wondering who else here is.

When I was younger I grew up watching Chuck Norris, Van Dam, Segal, Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee ect ect, basically whatever I could get a hold of. Mostly I enjoy the style of the movies but more often than not I find myself laughing out loud at some of the stuff they pull off.
I think it's an underrated art form. Sure it's all scripted but it's usually some serious skills being shown off.
Now I'm not talking about anime here. I don't deny anime is awesome it's just not a huge deal to me. I prefer real people doing anime style things.

These movies use a lot of the flying around super powers thing that turns off some people. I'm not a fan of it but I don't mind when Jet Li does it. Is there anything he does that isn't badass?

This is one of my favorite scenes, Jackie Chan is a master for sure.

It gets really good once he's drunk. Starts @ 40secs into the video.

I could go on but this should give people an idea of what I'm asking about. Sorry some of the videos might be long, to me they seem too short. :P

I really enjoyed that cartoon too. It was funny in an interview about the cartoon, Jackie said that he wanted to be able to do things that he couldn't do in real life. The "stunts" the cartoon Jackie would do are the same things I have seen the real Jackie do.

I liked the interviews, it showed he cared about the children, and wasn't a snob. He is definately one hell of a fighter.

I guess that I am a little late to the party on this one but to go back to the Jackie Chan part of this just for a moment I liked him back when he started things were real then. Now you look at the movie tuxedo and that one just killed the Jackie Chan vibe for me. It was better when he did everything that was real and not so much now that he is using effects.

@dudebro I know that I am not going to argue those points there, but my overall feeling is when Jackie Chan went and not made it look real it took alot away from the movie for me.

Well Count you do realize Jackie was @ 48 years old when The Tuxedo came out? Sure he's still in good shape but he's getting a little old to do all those stunts.

Yes dudebro I get that but still it was the fact of watching him so long do the real stuff and felling the reality that it was just unexpected that it happened. I am not saying that it was a bad movie at all I am just saying it was weird.

5 Deadly Venoms
36th Chamber of Shaolin
Shaolin Vs. Wu Tang
Ong Bak
Most Shaw stuff

Not a shock that TMT put 3 Wu Tang movies on his list. :P
They are awesome. Some of the coolest and most hilarious scenes I've ever seen.
Ong Bak was great too. That last fight scene was epic.
I'll have to look up shaw. I'm sure I've seen some of his stuff I just don't keep track.

You don't like Jackie Chan TMT? I'm not saying he's the best he's just my favorite. I can watch any of his movies and enjoy it.

Anyone seen Shogun Assassin? That's another really great movie.

Shogun Assassin is AWESOME!!!
All of the Lone Wolf and Cub movies I have seen are awesome.

Also, Shaw isn't a him but rather a them, as in Shaw Brothers Studio. They are responsible for a ton of films that any kung fu fan has seen.

I looked up the Shaw Brothers Studio and I'm blown away by how many movies they made. Did they really makes like 20 movies a year?

None of the names jumped out at me but I'm sure I've seen many of them. Actually wiki said Jacky and Samo Hung(the fat guy) did movies for them in the 70s before they were famous. I'm 99% sure I saw those.

Btw my dad got me some old VHS martial arts movie at a flea market. They look terrible but I didn't watch them yet to see just how lame they are. Maybe you've heard of some...

I'm pretty sure I have seen Fist or Golden Monkey, but I can't really remember.
Ninja Wars and Ninja Terminator sound awesome! Haha.

Another great one I forgot is Shaolin Vs. Evil Dead. That's another one with Gordon Liu that every martial arts fan should see.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was a good martial arts movie... though it's not really hardcore martial arts, since there is a love story, other plot, etc. but the ones that are in it are pretty good...

I like the classic Jackie Chan movies. The ones with no special effects.

For new glitzy movies Kung Fu Hustle is about as good as it gets.

When I was under 10 I liked Chuck Noris. When I was a young teenager I liked Jean-Claude Van Damme.
