Because, if it's what I think it is, Samus is gonna have help, looked like tthe GF Trooper's from the Metroid Prime games

Re: Metroid: SR 388
lol maybe, could it be an offshot for the story?
it could just be the arm cannon that the troopers have, or a modified one?
might be a metroid, we'll find out soon enough

Re: Metroid: SR 388
acctually the metroids are not what samus was originally destorying they are a alian being that sucks the life from other creatures
samus goes to the panet to destroy the evil space pirates. and since they use the graphics from super metroid they could be following that story.
and the main metroid (the really really big one at the end of super metroid) first sucks the life from the end boss and gives that energy to samus giving her the super arm cannon
so the metroids are not the evil char of the metroid games ... and not intentionally what samus is going out to destroy they just get in the way.

Re: Metroid: SR 388
That's the first and 3rd one(and the Prime games), Metroid Fusion when way off in left field, Metroid 2 is all about killing metroids(on SR38 , and this did start out as a Metroid 2 remake, but was canned and redesigned as a separate game, and It's not just a Super Metroid remake, I know for a fact, look at the first vid.
And in Prime they don't just get in the way, one of them actively tries to destroy you :P

Re: Metroid: SR 388
No matter the story, the game looks fantastic. What will it be for, the SNES or straight up PC?

Re: Metroid: SR 388
from what I know, it's straight PC, though you might want to get a controller to hook up so it's easier to control. Not to mention the free aspect of the game, if it's free it suddenlly isn't as bad than if you had wasted your money on it

Re: Metroid: SR 388
I don't care if its free or not. I'd pay $5-$10 for it. As long as its going in a format I can use and not something like WiiWare.

Re: Metroid: SR 388
i have to agree i would want to get that as well just cause metroid was a great game.. but i never did like the metroid prime where it went to a first person shooter that was a little odd there but at least this looks ok cause it looks like they went back to the original look...
