Jabba the Hut was in Star Wars, his character was based on a certain character in a book. What book was it?

that means Jabba the Hut is based off of Ciacco(means Hog), i assume, he dwelling in the 3rd ring, punishment for Gluttony, lol Cerberus gaurds them, yay, a three headed dog, such a nice gaurd...

lol, wow, i learded something today, didn't relize that Jabba was based off of something out of the Divine Comedy
PS you probably though the city Dis was all one ring, its acctually 4 or 5, i cant remember if it starts on the ring 6 or 7
