What games will have the most staying power?
In 20-30 years, what games will still be played or discussed in decent amounts? The first game to come to mind is Tetris, but other games such as Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Galaga, Zelda(esp. LttP and OoT), and StarCraft merit consideration as well. What are your thoughts?

League of Legends , Dota 2, and (maybe) CS:GO.

Re: What games will have the most staying power?
Still being played? I'd assume not many outside of really popular PC games that don't require online connections, same for most modern console games. I doubt Valve is gonna be maintaining TF2 servers in 2044 for example.
I'd say the classic retro games are a given since most of the people who grew up with them will still be alive and retro stuff goes in and out of style a lot.
No offense to Chrisp and other MOBA fans but I sure hope that fad has passed by then.

Games with a focus on gameplay, movie games will all be forgotten.

I dunno about that. A vivid visual experience can have a lasting effect on people.

I agree. Classic games are also (very) easy to find and play these days because of the internet.
Other than that, many famous games from the 2000s decade (Bioshock, much of the PS2 library, etc.) will be remembered since there's many who grew up with them.

Doom's still having maps made for it, I'd say that's one of the longest running games going by playermade content

Well that game probably is better than Destiny.

Grand Theft Auto. The first versions came out almost exactly 17 years ago (12/14/97) and seems to be more popular than ever. I see no end in sight for this game. I could also see my grandkids playing Mario Kart 35 someday.

Absolutely, the " Movie games" ( Not Movie-Based ) will hang around for a while, Especially the ones with " Mini-Movie Interaction"!

Re: What games will have the most staying power?
I'll go Ms. Pac-Man, for simplicity, and Super Mario Bros., because Nintendo refuses to let us forget it.
On an unrelated note, I'll be posting my Mario Maker levels soon after the games release...
