Has anyone else watched this film yet, amazing soundtrack and really enjoyable one of Marvels best films

I'm sure a lot of people are going to bash the movie as stupid or too goofy, but I really enjoyed it. Rather than trying to be more epic like Avengers, it was just a fun movie to watch.

It looks like a cool movie, and it seems goofy to the point where it would be more enjoyable than the average action flic. I'll give it a shot, plus I like The Runaways so the trailer won me over all around

I finally got around to seeing it. Very solid movie. Really funny and entertaining. I still think I liked Thor 2 and Captain America 2 more, but it's definitely better than Iron Man 3. Another great Marvel movie for Phase 2!

Really? I thought it was really good but I still like Thor 2, Captain America 2 more. And Avengers is way better imo.

The best Marvel movie I have seen to date. I have not seen Captain 2, so I cannot compare to that. Not a dull moment, and I never thought that three words from Groot could have not been more perfect.

Best Marvel movie I have seen in a bit. Regardless of whether you know or like the comics, I believe the film delivers. I was very glad they ignored almost all of the original GotG, and I was okay with what they did to the one they did keep (Yondu). Very much in the style of the comics featuring those characters, and it should tie in well with the rest of the stuff Marvel is doing in their new TV/movie-verse. I also have a boner for a certain Mad Titan, which probably helps my review.

Are the two scenarios mutually exclusive? It is a silly movie, so it works. There is more to Rocket Raccoon's character than the fact that he is a Raccoon.

I thought that Rocket and Groot were going to take up way more screen time and focus but it was impressive how Chris Pratt kept himself interesting among a cgi cast. I think if their other movies have actors/characters who can do that then they're set.

I worry that these movies will butcher less traditional characters because they're worried about the "selling" to audiences who aren't into the comics and/or don't have an open mind about fantasy.
