DRAHEXXY Hardcore mode!

In the spirit of Cam3ron36's recent HC adventure, I have started one of my own.

Anyone else interested in posting pics of your own Drahexxy Singleplayer adventures?
I'm certain we would all like to see them.

I spawned a Default Drahexxy world, but with the villages as I didn't know if it would change how the mods spawn dungeons and other structures.
So far I've managed to live a couple of days and even found a dungeon almost straight away.

Instead of playing it super - safe as I typically do on the server

, for the sake of more interesting screenshots I'm playing a bit more boldly;

* not planning on killing each and every enemy like Cam; just surviving as long as I can while getting interesting screenshots to post here!

While mining I found an underground dungeon; broke in through a wall, and one of the first rooms I came across was this 'workshop':

I even found the 'boots with the fur' sometimes seen on the launcher screen splash: {still searching for that 'hobo - humping slobo babe' though}

I was laughing at how one Dwarf was carrying a pick; I think he was going to 'diggy' me a new 'dwarf hole' :

1st death.

Found more good loot; Diamond Boots, an enchanted Iron Glaive, an Iron Sythe, and 2 Iron Bows!

A bit further along, I discovered this dungeon smacked right into the next:

By this point I was wearing Iron Plated Scale Chestplate and Leggings, and even had Diamond Boots on, so I figured that along with the Iron Bows I was good to go.
I never expected to fall through a hole and land directly in the center of a group of Dwarves, Skeletons, Zombies, and a Creeper finished the job.

She's an old girl now, and although no repairs have been made it seems it has a wee bit of life left in her.

EPISODE 2 - A new beginning: the search for a World Seed!

You could try one of those crazy world generations where you start on a steep mountain in the clouds. Whatever that option is called. When I tried it was pretty hardcore just getting down to sea level.

Do you mean the AMPLIFIED world generation option?

Uh - oh, there's a snag!

Drahexxy modpack is only 1.5.2 , meaning the AMPLIFIED world is a no - go.

So instead I started a Large Biomes world, but it's not a good start at all.
Spawn is on a small island with no trees.

To make matters worse, there's a small Pirate boat right next to it:

Picked East, swam past 2 more Pirate boats luckily out of range.
Found a small island with Palm trees, got wood and coconuts.

Night fell, so I began digging and was doing quite well; found both iron and diamond!

I began feeling morning must be near, went to peek to see if the sun was up, and SURPRISE!
A Harbinger hopped directly into my peek hole, and killed me before I could draw my sword.

Where were you to warn me before this happened?

The really funny thing was, the peephole wouldn't have allowed any other mobs except silverfish, small spiders or perhaps a zombaby to fit through, and I wasn't counting on any of those being on that desert island, which is why I thought it was safe.
Now we know Harbingers can fit through a 1 block hole.

Since then there has been another world created and deleted; but who cares?
The only thing notable from that episode was a village built up and over a hillside, but these seem fairly common to Drahexxy.

In our current episode, I spawned in a swamp next to a frog, which is one animal I hadn't seen until now.

Gathered wood, killed some pigs for food, began to dig, and saw this:

My first thought was they were in a small cavern that intersected an abandoned mine, so I went down to investigate:

I've never seen this before, it's like huge arching pillars cut out of the dirt, ores, and stone, with a layer of water at the bottom.
This place is huge, and I spent a long time just swimming around placing torches to get these screenshots in an attempt to show just how large this area is.
I think I found one 'wall' but I'm not sure.

Down in that cavern mobs don't have many places to spawn because of the water, but they drop down from holes in the ceiling above as I pass by ..

.. I almost got killed by a skelly and a zombie archer who teamed up, so I ran for it and got away with half a heart.

That would have been the end of this episode right there had I not taken the time to actually make iron chestplate and leggings beforehand.

Yes, very unusual - and as I was walking around mining some ores on the surface, I accidentally dropped a diamond into a hole under the water..

So being the miser I am, went into the hole after it only to discover the hole led into a small cave below.
Because the water was flowing into this small cave underwater, the current pulled at me so much that I died while trying to retrieve the diamond!

But that's Ok, because when I started a new world, I found even more unusual stuff:

Definitely not a village; looking at the screenshots, it looks so much like the haunted tower from Twilight Forest to me.
If I go up there and find out that's what it is, it will be the funkiest thing I've ever seen mods do.

Technically I guess the floating dungeon itself is funky too but looks to me like mod conflict common within Drahexxy - we've all seen stalactites and stalagmites floating around in midair and that sort of thing.

Whatever it is or how it got there, I'm taking my good sweet time in this episode

because I'm really curious about what's sitting on top of that {Minotaur?} dungeon.
I'm not making a move without full diamond armor this time!

Besides, if I made a 'nerd pole' just to look I may get shot off by a skelly or something; remember what happened on Mykeh's server when *someone* tried to get a better look at that floating blue island near my shack?
