Alright, Ive been here almost three months and retro gaming doesn't appear to be a passing fad for myself so it looks like your all stuck with me.

I'm TwinChargers, (Brian), and have been gaming since I was a tot starting with the 2600 all the way up to this past generation of games. I physically own pretty much every popular console from the early years up until the PS2 generation. My collection consists of over 500 games primarily focusing on arcade ports.

I'm really enjoying this site, getting to play a ton of games I've never heard of and setting high scores on some of my old favorites. I'm currently working my way up the top 100 gamers list hoping to settle in the top 25 at some point.

Anyways its been a pleasure so far. Made a few friends (some I know from work). Thank Gardok for introducing me here. Here's to hope I break some of your guys high scores!

Hi TwinChargers, and welcome to RetroUprising, the best site on the net!

From what you wrote it sounds like you and I had a similar gaming background; starting with the Atari 2600 at home, collecting ports of arcade games, and finally arriving at RU - and again, like yourself I'm enjoying games I'd never even heard of.

What's interesting about the Coin-Op section here is that there are not only region - specific games {the ones licensed for use only in specific countries} but also prototypes, clones, cabinet test programs, different versions .. RU really is the world's best arcade, in my opinion.

Enjoy!

I always got systems when they were on there last legs. Started with the 2600 when I was a tot. Got a 7800 around 1989 and a Master System about a year later. Finally got an NES in 93 and a Genesis by 95 or 96.

It was a cool time to be a gamer. It felt like with each generation video games were growing up with you. These past few generations just feel like slight improvements over the past one.
