Mario Kart Wii

So I know Mario Kart isn't that huge profile game that Brawl was, but I still felt like it was one I needed to get at midnight and play all night with my friends. It is 3 AM here and they just went home. I love this game. The bikes are cool, there are some awesome new tracks, and the steering wheel that comes packed in makes the game even more compelling.

Did any of you get this game, want to get this game, or whatever?

I got it a long time before.It got released in the UK on the 15th or w/e. Its great! I like how the controls were implanted in.

Don't own a wii. I would like to play it though. Look kinda fun (with friends it would be....seems like it wouldn't be too great playing alone).

Sunday. And yeah, as Jeckel said, extra wheels are a plenty at 15 a piece. All my lame friends used gamecube controllers, and I was tearin it up with my steering wheel.

can you use different types of controllers at the same time?

eg: 1 wheel/remote, 2 gc controllers, and 1 classic controller?

Edit: I just unlocked a characer. It was the first I unlocked. I was insanely disappointed they were my first, and even that they are in the game.

To go a little further, you can use the different controllers, but it takes away some of the abilities. Even though I have not played, I heard you can't drift with the other controllers. It is best to get the wheel otherwise, it will be a bit harder.

That's what some people say. Though my friends thought they couldn't drift with a controller, but that was because they were driving automatic, not manual. You can only drift in manual.

I guess it is possible but it wouldn't make much sense if that were true. The wheel is way better than a GC controller anyways, though.

I used to ROCK this game on the Nintendo64! I'd love to give it a shot. My nephew owns a Wii. Hopefully he buys it!

BTW, back in the day, we didn't call it "drifting". If we're talking about the same thing, my friends and I called it a POWERSLIDE!

That would happen in a turn and your smoke would start turning color... is that right?

Yeah that's what it is. But I read that they changed it in this one so that you have to hold the slide to get the boost instead of moving the control stick back and forth, Probably to stop people from doing it on the straightaways. I'm actually kind of happy about that, becuase its annoying when people do that online in MKDS.

I'm having a hard time with wheelies with the wheel. I usually just swerve all over. I found that the nunchuck worked much better.
