Re: XBOX One
No analog output confirmed.
It was...pretty underwhelming for me, personally.
They said they were going to focus on the hardware this time around and save the games for e3. Instead we got an overbearing focus on Kinect and other TV/social media crap, glazed over the hardware specifics in favor of buzzwords, no using the new controller at all, no gameplay footage.
That and for a worldwide reveal it seemed very USA centric, with all the NFL partnership stuff. I guess that's kind of expected from Microsoft concerning their primary market now, but still this was a worldwide reveal in a single place.
As I said, underwhelmed.

It is not enforced by the console, it will be done by a per game basis.

Xbox One will give game developers the ability to create games that use Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing service, which means that they might be able to offload certain computing tasks to the cloud rather than process them on the Xbox One hardware itself. This would necessitate the game requiring a connection.

Re: XBOX One

Well, from what hawk has said, I can see me never being an Xbox fan, at this rate Sony has won this era unless Nintendo does something amazing. If anything ill stick to wii u (maybe) and ps4 when the prices go down.

Re: XBOX One
Here ya go. Two sources!
Computer and Video Games
Wired
No more used games in the old sense of the word. Discs are for distribution purposes only, installation is mandatory for every game and games will not run off of a disc, just like a PC.
On first install, disc IDs will be tied to an Xbox Live account. The first install is free. If you use the disc with another Live account, that person has the option of paying a fee for the install (probably the full MSRP of the game), after which they then also own the game and can play freely without the disc.

Well the name is really bad. That and other stuff puts it with the WiiU in my mind, garbage I'll never buy.

Exactly .... It's a piece of "multimedia" garbage, why do I want to do with my videogames console what I can do with my laptop?? .. Even my TV can do a lot of this things ... I think that Sony is already winning this next generation...
And the name ... WTF Microsoft, Xbox One?? Then the first Xbox was the Pre-Xbox One? A lot of confusion could be generated with this name ...

No way, none of those are real. Parody accounts typically exist for humor though.
Twitter accounts of important people will be verified with a check mark like so.

Anyways dum launch is dum. A big modern day appeal of consoles is that you can just pop a game in and play, but that's out the window if you have to install it.

Re: XBOX One
Even thou I have been a massive sony fan since the PS1 I watched this with a open mind I know I have never really been a massive Xbox fan but hey no need to discredit something just because ive always had Playstation console so watch this with a open mind from what I saw
Microsoft seemed to massively be using the Kinect on this console basically everything is done via connect and 80% of the reveal was on all its amazing interactive tv and how you can use it with a remote... Whats wrong with a standard remote?
Secondly they seemed to be highlighting multimedia system and all its mutli uses I got the sense of Dejavu since isnt that the exact thing Sony did with the Playstation 3 that was massively out sold by 360 since it was more devoted to gaming.
Its a games console I thought not a futuristic tv controller.
Also no used games so what happenes in 15 years when the servers are down and people want to look back at these games as retro and enjoy them?

You only need to install once, and then you never need the disc again, unlike the current paradigm where if you install a game, you still need the disc in the tray each time you play. It remains to be seen if you have to wait out the install. Sony plans for the PS4 to be able to install the most vital data first, then let you play while the installer continues putting the rest of the game.
It is not like a PC where you have to choose options, install directories, etc and then wait for a long time for it to finish.

Yeah but you can only hold so much space worth of install data. My point is that if you decide to make room for some you'll have to reinstall.

Re: XBOX One
True point, didn't think about that before. 500GB might fill up fast with recorded movies/TV/music/media, downloaded games, and game installs (which come on Blu-Ray discs, so big big files).

Re: XBOX One
its not garbage . i am a die hard nintendo fan and been that way since nintendo and the original game boy. and own mostly every console besides like ps1 and original xbox . and this system is just going along with the times really . i mean sony ps4 is doing alot of the same . maybe not entirly the same but alot of the same .
i mean microsoft has always gone with the times . and alot of the new cell phones carry 8 gigs and things like that . the game will be amazing its just adding more social reginition along with it with things like skype and stuff. in my opion this system will sell very well . after all the 360 is the number one console in the united states for the past while in terms of sales wise and do very well think the xbox one will do very well .
but i guss it depends on price . nintendo needs to get the ball rolling with games . sony obivous has a good system as well but there as well as micosoft are adding alot of social network type stuff . so they usully always go along with each other its nintendo that does entire different things that people spin there head around
also ps they never said anything about not used games . those are just old stuff people thought the system was gonna have like the online thing as well. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/...-game-installs

Please tell me how PS4 is about the same when they showed their console they showed what gamers wanted to see Games, Games and more Games and went and showed the full specifications of the console... The are not using a gimmicky thing like Kinect for everything.

Re: XBOX One
really the ps4 not being the same . what do mean when sony adding there own social network to there console . when sony is adding the abilty to take pictures and record video of the games while playing so you can post it on the social network .
hate to say it but thats the way gameing is going . social . microsoft adding skype to the xbox new one and adding trending stuff and talking during sports games .
sony might not have all the same stuff but you do have admit that sony is adding social networking of there own.
hate to say it also the fact is kinect sells its how the will was able to sell over 90 millions consoles world wide . motion gaming sells money . i mean its why microsoft adding kinect in the first place or when sony added eye toy . they realized it and there doing stuff nintendo should of done with the wii .
and fact remains there thing focused on the system whos to say they wont say the rest of the stuff at E3. plus if you saw they said they plan to have 8 excluvsive titles come out for the xbox one before the years end . unless they meant the following year i could be mistaken but 15 total in all for exclusives so they are smartening up . i mean they got more money then both nintendo and sony and there now fully using it i mean most 3rd partys already on xbox alot of them and now microsoft starting to make more games that are only for there system that says something right there .
