{that's the best I can come up with right now}

I have a collection myself {of cats - get over it - figurines, toys, household items shaped like cats, etc.} that started ages ago and has maybe a few hundred items in it now and is worth about $20.00 CAN.

So ..

1. What do you think of that dude's Mario collection?
2. Do you have a collection?

I collect Art books (I don't recommend it, biggest pain in the butt if you are moving) I have no idea how many I have, I'd guess somewhere around the 1500-2000 range. The value of the collection is tough to calculate, I would sell them for 100'000 dollars, no less. They are probably worth 20k if you looked them all up on eBay individually.

You're right they can be really heavy and they do charge enough for them, don't they?
But who wants to read from an 'e - reader', anyways? - I HATE white screen and what it does to my eyes!
Real books are best in my opinion.

That's the best part of my books, you don't have to read them, but yeah reading digitally sucks.

Beer bottle caps. I had around 50 different caps from about 15 different countries, but I lost them when I moved.

I think the guy in the OP is a little nuts but if it makes him happy oh well.

I'm not big into collecting, I'd rather sell stuff, but my wife has 21 assorted gnomes and one old book about their history from the guy who made them popular. The gnomes range in size from a couple inches tall to your typical garden variety(one is a ChiaPet). We also have a large Terracotta soldier and a gremlin who sits under a table and stares at me.

To hear you put it that way, 'caps' just reminded me of a collection of baseball caps I used to have, about hundred caps.
I forget exactly what happened to them, but I have a feeling if I remember I'm going to get mad about it ..

I don't know how many I have left but it's way less than a thousand for certain, all PS2/ GC era and earlier.
Whenever I think about parting with what's left I end up playing them again, so I guess I'm not done with them yet.

DB have you ever considered that you have a sort of 'Mexican standoff' going there with that Gremlin, after all, from his point of view you're the one who's staring, right?

I hate myself for getting rid of all my games over the years, the fact that I have had so many a one point keeps me from being a collector. I won't sell anymore from here on out, but I can't bring myself to "collect".

Well a good 100 or so are digital. I don't really collect games in the way a collector does. I buy games I intend on playing, not to sit on some shelf gathering dust, never to be opened so I can show off my swag.

I almost bought 11 boxed Intellevision games for about 50 bucks awhile back, Fungusman talked me out of it. They were neat, but I'm glad I didn't get them.
