Some of my submissions seem to be getting lost

I have had a few cases now where longer games I play then submit the score never seem to be getting to you guys for verification.

I am using arcadeOSX score mode then F12 to submit after the game is over and it gives the confirmation that the submission was a success and I now can quit the game etc. so I do.

These were longer games...like 2-3 hours of gameplay.
The games were for Frenzy-Colecovision and Q*Bert-Colecovision.

I did q*bert about 10-14 days ago and Frenzy 2-3 days ago.
no, I did not click the view submitted score afterward..which maybe I need to do that to really confirm it got submitted?

anyway, if lost I will replay...but lots of time of gameplay lost to replay these. I can set higher scores than before so Im not concerned about it. if I stream it and the submission fails again can I post the stream somewhere here to get verified?

I have seen another games I played and submitted not show up also but I really didn't care for those so didn't take note. Many others are fine for submission so I do not think it's my setup. My setup btw is always using the arcadeOSX score mode in Firefox 17.0.1 in Windows7. Each time I get the success confirmation after hitting F12.

if those games were received and just need to be confirmed beyond a screenshot that's fine. for q*bert colecovision I rolled the score once..it's 1.5 million so you would need to watch the game to catch the rollover.

any help appreciated as I wouldn't want to try a 5+ hour game just to see the submission not work properly. Thanks for all that you guys do. I plan on donating after I see if I can survive Christmas. hehe

I lost one of mine of Ganryu. I promptly beat it though so no harm. but yeah, wasn't cool.

Hi Rick, nice to see you're still enjoying yourself here.

I just verified frenzy for you - nice job. Sometimes longer submissions are left in the queue a little longer due to the time it takes to verify them.

As for Q*Bert it may have got deleted by mistake (I do seem to remember seeing it in the queue - However you've played quite a bit of Q*Bert so it may have been one from another system!) If it has been deleted I think there are ways of getting it back for you. You may have to wait a little while.

As for the donation - I know it will be gratefully received. Just remember when you do donate you can then automatically watch score submissions yourself. (Once the scores have been accepted of course!)

You don't need to do it but it should let you know if the submission went through to the mods so it can't hurt.

Sorry no, only submissions on RU will count.

one feature that maybe could be added to the site would be on the member's page..you know how you can click your name and you see 1st place scores, cleared games, favorites, etc. well, can we add "up for acceptance" or something where we see scores for games we have submitted and aren't accepted yet?

I had assumed for the longer games it would take a bit longer to verify...especially q*bert where you would need to watch for the rollover. that's why I waited 2 weeks before bringing that one up. I also figure the verifiers get busy at times so if a few extra days pass before it's verified that's fine...but still would be nice to see the status of the submission on our member's page.

Hey Rick

Just a thing to remember, you need to wait for the "submission successful" prompt to come up after you submitted using F12. This can take a bit longer when the submission is quite large. If the window is closed too quickly the submission wont send successfully and hence not be in the queue.
This may not have been the case but I know I have been guilty of doing this!

I hope it's ok to add to this post. I've also had a recent problem with some of my scores not working. In my case, it seems I'm getting booted from the server sometime during my gameplay. When I hit F12 I get a message saying my score was not accepted so I know right away it's not going to work. When I go to the RU homepage after trying to submit the score, I'm required to sign in again which is why I'm thinking I'm getting booted from the server. This seems to be happening at a much more frequent rate than it did just a month or two ago. The only thing that's changed on my end is I hooked up a new router a couple of months ago. I sometimes loose a score on shorter games if I've been playing other games for an hour or two. So far I haven't lost any really good scores but it is a little annoying to have to keep signing in. Any suggestions on how to make this stop would be much appreciated.

I just wanted to add that I don't seem to have this problem on my work computer. I can't play any games at work so I just read the message board and browse games but I don't recall that I've ever had to sign in again on this computer (I'm at work). At home, I sometimes have to re sign in even if I'm just reading the message board.

I haven't had any issues with auto-logout in about a year. I would first suggest the normal solutions, no other programs running, browser up to date, etc...

I'm actually curious if it happens on another browser.

colecovision-q*bert.... 1.5 million...likely can beat that as I was not aware lives were limited...so I was wasting them left and right....plus was very tired.

I'm using the 64 bit version of IE 9 with Windows 7. I've never used any other browser than IE.

To the left of your post is a link that says "My Game Screens".
Clicking it shows all of your submitted scores.
Your q-bert score is not there.

So that means
Either you were not logged in.
You did not press F12.
You did not confirm the submission after pressing F12.
You did not wait for the success screen after submission.
Your firewall blocked the submission.
You temporarily lost internet connection during the submission.
The RU server temporarily lost connection during the submission.

Sorry, but it is lost and you will have to submit again. Nothing can be done to retrieve it.

This kinda off topic, but it was kinda neat so I'll share my story. I was playing Destiny of an Emperor, when suddenly Firefox crashed. Everything disappeared except my game screen, so I could continue to play. Then FF rebooted up automatically, and automatically launched a new game of DoaE, It had no screen anywhere, but I could hear it. So I was playing 2 different games of DoaE at once, while only being able to see one, submitting my story to Ripleys as we speak.
