No Shave November

Is anyone else participating in this annual event? I understand some people like DB and WG are bearded year around, as was I until Halloween came along. Anyone going to do before and afters?

I had been bearded for about 5 years up until a few days ago, I'm gonna keep it off for a while. The breeze feels really good lol.

Technically already failed the task. Had Grad photos on the second or the first or something like that, so had to shave.

This is the first time I heard about Movember. I haven't really shaved my beard in over 5 years. I've trimmed it down to about half a centimeter, but that's pretty much it. I don't grow a mustache very well (weird because I'm of Mexican decent), but I'm thinking about giving this a go. I might chicken out, but if I do go for it, I'll post pre and post pics here.

I live in the Appalachian Mountains. No one around here is going to notice a couple extra beards in November.

No. No Shave November is for not shaving, at all - anywhere. Movember is the mustache charity one.

If you ask me it's just an excuse for wussy dudes to grow some man hair on their faces. There's some taboo in our cultures that says beards aren't ok in "normal" social situations. This gives people a free pass to ignore that.

I'm talking about how it's seen as better to be clean shaven, like how Fenrir said about ushering at church or stuff like going for a job interview. It's not universally looked down on but most of the time you'll hear people saying you should shave before doing something important or saying they don't trust people with facial hair as much as clean shaven people.

Ever notice when they do a "evil twin" thing on shows/movies they usually just have some facial hair? That's part of it too.

No it most definitely goes past a joke. You won't see a politician with facial hair unless he's a fringe candidate. Lots of places require people to shave to get a job working with the public. Ect ect.
