A suggestion for games

I think it would be a good idea for the games where people have high scores in it says champion: Tails and a picture of their current avatar they got the high score with.

i can show some examples.

I think that it actually used to do that a long time ago on onVGP, I remember how great it felt to see my Mario Avatar next to my first high score high score ;D

Might make the site load times get worse. Not sure but seems like it would having to load extra images.

well i still say just show the number of your trophies you have and a link to a seperate page for a list. if someone wants to see what you have they just hit the link.

Well, to help load times, we could get the board switched to Vbulletion, and keep the rest of the site the same.

I like the idea, but why do we have little trophies instead of the game's picture now?

thats what they were talking about but to answer your question... tails has so many trophies it was lagging everything because it had to load all those little pictures

I figured that, that's why I made the Vbulletion suggestion. I remember some other sites I used to go on, and the system that Vbulletion used made everything run smoother when they switched to it....never know.

We used vBulletin before (back in the onVGP days)and we may go back to it, the decision is still in the works.

The problem of the trophy imges causing lag don't have anything to do with the forum. Each trophy was an image this size

that was artificially being squeezed small. Some pages had several hundred of those images being loaded every time. That is not good. The only solution is to remove the images or create new small images. The first solution was quicker.

We used to have vBulletin. It is decent. We now have SMF. I hate SMF. In six months or less we will not be using SMF anymore. Not sure what we will be using but vBulletin is not ruled out yet. SMF is though.

So the site will stay retrouprising.com right? If it changes I might have a chance to get on at work.....for a day or two, before it is blocked. lol
