I think you're right,
DB; the process does sound a bit complex, but it's quite simple:
Step 1: download the file from 2shared, {please remember to tell us that you have the file and are adding something to it
.}
Step 2: extract to your .minecraft 'saves' folder using 7Zip or WinRAR.
Step 3: add stuff.
Step 4: recompress the save file using 7Zip or WinRAR, and upload the recompressed file to 2shared.
Step 5: post the 2shared link to the updated save file in this thread {and I hope you remembered to add your username to the list in the Main Terminal
}

Barbi Kitty added more to the 'Mining Town', as well as some other items.
{I wanted to post screenshots but am having difficulty with 'attachments' right now}
I fixed the signs in the Main Terminal, now it's easier to add your name once you've added to the project.
Also fixed the derpy starting point a bit.
Started working on one of the huge blocks at one end of the track, with the intention of hollowing it out for - I'm not sure
what I had in mind {and if you have a good idea for the space then please go right ahead} but the rail now goes around the outside edge, dropping gradually and then turning in and through the center of the block , heading toward the other {smaller} block, then on to .. Blue's house thingy in the Jungle there ??

Guess what?
The track is
twice as long as I originally thought.
Once you reach the 'Retro Forever' on the side of one of those huge blocks I talked about, keep going in the same direction you are facing you will find even more track, just beyond render distance.
Basically, head in the same direction the track is going as you are climbing toward the top of the block and you will find Blue's house and to the left of that is the track atop a pillar, where it continues on at least as long as the first section.
In other words, what I thought was one 'end' of the track is actually just the middle.
