SNES game

It's an RPG that I remember playing through about 98% when I decided it would be a good idea to get rid of all my SNES stuff and get a PS2. I wish I had that decision back.

Anyways, here is what I remember.

It's a dungeon game where you start on floor one and go deeper into the dungeon as the game goes on. You have a map button so you can see where you've explored. There are four in your party and you get to chose how your party is made up. I don't remember what type of characters you had to chose from but it seems like you had a wizzard for casting spells, and a couple of different type of fighters. What I remember most is that you could name each member of your party. The reason I remember the naming part is that I gave them all dirty names.

The game play is you walk around the dungeon which is a maze and as you are exploring, you get into battles but you don't actually fight. You just chose between different options which I think were to fight, parry, run or spell. You have hit points and the monsters have hit points. There are also rooms that you go into where you find certain items and the portals to next floor down.

This one has been eating at my for a long time that I never finished this game. I looked through all of the SNES games last night and couldn't find the game. I thought it was a Final Fantasy game but the ones I looked at last night weren't anything like what I remember playing.

Any help on this one is greatly appreciated.

Re: SNES game

Thanks. I'm at work right now so I can't check out the gameplay but in looking at the descriptions, I think it's going to be on of the Wizardry games and since I remember that you play with a 4 person party, I'm going to guess it Wizardry 5.

Just checked it out and it is Wizardry 5 and I was mistaken, you have a 6 person party. Thank you very much.

Re: SNES game

Damn Joz you really cast a wide net on that one. Taloon has only one character and 7th Saga is nothing like he described. Good catch on Wizardry though.

@DB- Wizardry games are brutal and unforgiving. If you wanna get back into it I suggest playing in fullmode with save states until you get used to it again.

This game is much more fun
Retro Uprising - Arcade - Might And Magic 3: Isles Of Terra
It's still kinda brutal but it's not as drab and boring, you can actually explore the towns and the overworld too.
