Do You Like Online Privacy? You May Be a Terrorist | Public Intelligence

In other completely out of touch state anti technology propaganda, the FBI just released a flyer promoting "suspicious activity".

Quote:

The use of PGP, VPNs, Tor or any of the many other technologies for anonymity and privacy online are directly targeted by the flyer, which is distributed to businesses in an effort to promote the reporting of these activities.

For the layman, these are completely legit technologies. I'll give you an example, if I'm doing work (I'm a system admin/programmer for a website) at a starbucks, if I don't encrypt my traffic, ANYONE CAN SEE MY PASSWORDS TO OUR SERVERS. Why don't I just put my email address and password on the back of my laptop screen while I'm at it ? This is just stupid ...

This is ridiculous. If not for a VPN, I wouldn't be able to work from home when I am feeling sick like today. Insane.

Man, people are so paranoid about terrorists. How many people in the us have been killed by them? Compared to the 300million+ people living in the us, a miniscule percentage. You would have a better chance of winning the lottery. People need to get their priorities straight, and worry about something that has more than a snowball's chance in hell of happening.

What would the percentage be of a terrorist winning the lottery?
