Evil Dead remake

I know this sounds like blasphemy but please put your pitchforks down and put those torches out.

The 'Evil Dead' Remake Now Has a Director - Fandango.com

Sam Raimi is on board with the project and he picked a director already. The guy is relatively unknown but according to the article Raimi really liked a short he made and took him under his wing to bring the short to the big screen. Here's the short it's pretty good imo-

The icing on the cake? Bruce Campbell said this about the remake- "Cool as hell. Scary as hell."

I've never seen Evil Dead, but I suppose if you think that a remake is a bit of possible blasphemy while in comparison you are not even slightly concerned about your own worshipers, then it is a movie I should be watching.

I am honestly stunned at you people not seeing this movie. It's not that it's a masterpiece of cinema or anything but it's a very popular cult classic.

It's hard to say specifically why I like it. You should just watch it for yourself. It's old and cheaply made but it's a great movie. Evil Dead 2 is basically a remake of it but it changes stuff and sets up for the third movie, Army of Darkness.

I love Evil Dead, I'll give a remake a chance.
It will be impossible to match the original, something about that movie was magic. Maybe it had something to do with the low budget and occasional comedic elements, I don't know. It was good, one of my favorites. That doesn't mean a remake couldn't be good. I think it should be okay at least.

Why did the robots hudddle up together and blow themselves up? Seems like a waste of good robots when they could have just launched a big bomb instead...anyways, I'll be looking forward to seeing it since Raimi is on board and hand picked the director.

I think he did that just to have a twist people wouldn't expect, I know I didn't expect it. In relation to the story I think that's why the robot walkers were so slow and seemed like they were heading somewhere as opposed to the flying vehicles just zipping around.

Maybe on reruns, but seriously do yourself the favor, go rent at the very barebones minimum Evil Dead 2, of course, I recommend Evil Dead 1 & 2 and Army of Darkness.

Well since the scifi channel plays anything nowdays, even wrestling, I'm sure it has been on there at some point. But like Jim said just rent Evil Dead 2 and you won't regret it. Army of Darkness too. Evil Dead 1 might be hard for non cinema buffs to enjoy because it's very low budget and looks old.

Btw guys I also read they're talking about remaking American Psycho, how does that make you feel?
